2 about us... Fresh products Our company is a Romanian owned company and is based in the Western part of the country. The company is called Vanina Com and our brand is Wildfoods. We have over 10 years experience in collecting, processing and sales of wild mushrooms, fruits and plants. We have putted a lot of effort in creating and innovating techniques for processing high quality products and we have traded with clients from Western Europe. Our products are produced in accordance with food safety regulations that are applied in the European Union and also we comply with HACCP standards and organic foods regulations. Porcini mushrooms (Boletus edulis, Boletus aereus, Boletus aestivalis and related species) : In Germany those mushrooms are known as steinpilz and in Italy as porcino. The mushrooms from the Boletus family grow in wild forests of Central and Eastern Europe from late May until the firsts snows of winter. Those mushrooms are being more and more popular around the world and have won their place in most cuisines. The mushrooms as presented in the photographs are fresh from the forest, they were carefully hand selected to ensure best quality. We can supply within the season 1st class mushrooms sorted into 3 sizes(small, medium and large mushrooms) and 2nd quality mushrooms(only large mushrooms). Those mushrooms are still with the forest dirt on them and our skilled workers try their best to ensure best quality. Another type of fresh Boletus are the half sliced mushrooms. This type of merchandise is also available within season and it s availability depends on the weather. Those mushrooms are cleaned of dirt, sliced in half and those which are wormfree are putted into plastic casseroles or in wooden baskets according to the client s requirements. The plastic casseroles are arranged in wooden or plastic crates but are not weighed individually. The potential clients who would like merchandise to be in wooden baskets should know that those are weighed individually and we ensure that each basket holds 1Kg of wormfree 1st quality mushrooms. Also we can package the mushrooms in any other form required by the client. 2 3

3 Fresh products Frozen products Chantarelle (Cantharellus cibarius) (girolle French; pfifferling German) : Those mushrooms are very appreciated due to their great perfume and taste. The mushrooms are available as fresh depending on the season and weather. Prior to packing, the mushrooms are individually hand cleaned of dirt and leaves, then are hand sorted to ensure high quality products. We have sold in the past Chantarelles packaged in wooden baskets which are weighed individually to hold exactly 1Kg of mushrooms. Also those mushrooms can be packaged into larger wooden crates that hold 3Kg or in any other packing type according to client needs. Bear s garlic (Allium ursinum) (barlauch German): It s a herb that is appreciated for the great taste and perfume. It has well known therapeutic proprieties and is found in Romanian forests in great quantities during the spring season. Leaves are harvested and the underground part of the plant remains therefore guaranteeing a sustainable future. The wild garlic is packed fresh as in the photographs or could be packaged according to client s demands. Royal amanita ( Amanita caesarea) (ovoli Italian; imperial French; kaiserling German) : Those mushrooms usually have a very short season and as all wildfoods, they also depend mainly on the weather. The mushrooms are great in fresh salads or on the grill for the larger ones. Those mushrooms are usually packed in wooden crates and are hand selected individually to ensure best quality. Half sliced 1st quality: The difference between this type of merchandise and the whole ones, is that by slicing the mushrooms, the client is 100% sure that the merchandise are wormfree. The packing is same as the whole products. Boletus mushrooms: Those mushrooms are processed into a large variety of products. In order for us to obtain high quality products the mushrooms are putted through a complex process of cleaning, sorting and cutting. After certain processes have took place, we obtain merchandise as follows: Whole 1st quality mushrooms: The mushrooms are hand sorted into 3 size classes before the freezing process. We pack the merchandise in cardboard boxes and plastic foil, afterwards the boxes are all weighed and equalized to a specific weigh. 4 5

4 Frozen products dehydrated products Mushroom cubes : These is the most common type of merchandise available. The process of obtaining these cubes is very labour intensive and the finished products are divided into 3 specific quality classes. The sizes of the cubes could be altered in accordance with the client s demands. The packing is same as the whole and sliced frozen mushrooms and the availability is in accordance with the season and weather. Our company is also specialized to dehydrate a vast variety of mushrooms and wild plants. Mostly we dehydrate mushrooms from the Boletus family, Yellow and Black Chanterelles. Also we have dehydrated wild bear s garlic but we can dehydrate any other fruit or plant edible and available in the forests. Our company also trades frozen fruit such as blueberries (Vaccinium myrtillus), blackberries (Rubus fruticosus), raspberries (Rubus idaeus), cranberries (Vaccinium vitis idaea) and plants such as wild garlic (Allium ursinum) and nettle (Urtica dioica). 6 7
