2 EARLY BIRD BREAKFAST PROGRAM October 5, 2018 Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes and Bacon Croissant Sandwich (bacon, egg, cheese) October 12, 2018 Creamed Dried Beef on Toast Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes and Sausage October 19, 2018 Croissant Sandwich (sausage, egg, cheese) Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes and Sausage October 26, 2018 Sausage Gravy Over Biscuits Scrambled Eggs, Potatoes and Sausage Served with fruit, muffins or pastry, toast, coffee, tea, juice, cereal Cost - $3.00 Breakfast served promptly at 8:00 A.M. Please sign-up 2 days in advance. Menu is subject to change. MEDICARE UPDATE Medicare Open Enrollment will begin on October 15 th and run through December 7 th. Wednesday, October 10 th at 1 p.m., Boyertown Area Multi-Service s Over 60 s Case Manager, Virginia Cox will offer a Medicare Update by offering general information on Medicare. She will also be available during the open enrollment period to meet with beneficiaries to assist with plan comparison and enrollment. Be prepared for Medicare open enrollment by attending this valuable informational session! OKTOBERFEST The Center will be celebrating Oktoberfest on Wednesday, October 17 th with soft pretzels, root beer soda at 10 a.m., pork and sauerkraut for lunch and musical entertainment at 1 p.m. by The Pretzel Land Band. Don t miss the fun - come celebrate Oktoberfest with us and enjoy the music that is guaranteed to make you feel good! SAFE HAVEN GROUP Kathleen Bohannon from Bayada Hospice will be joining us at the Center and meeting with a new group called, Safe Haven. This group will meet on Monday nights from 6 to 7:30 p.m. starting Monday, October 22nd with the last meet being November 26, This will be a six week course in exploring life transition, grief and loss. The group will involve memories of deceased loved ones, discussion, sharing of stories, pictures of special times and many traditional methods of processing loss and transition of life. Pre-registration is necessary, by October 10 th with Boyertown Multi Serivice Volunteer Coordinator MaryAnn Gruber, or with Kathleen Bohannon, BAYADA hospice, at FALL PREVENTION On Monday, October 22 nd at 1 p.m. Andrew Harnish from Fox Rehab will share tips to prevent falls. There are many things that can be done to improve your balance, modify your home environment and minimize risk factors to reduce your risk of falls. You can also join us for lunch by reserving your meal at least two days in advance. The suggested meal donation is $2.50. Check out the October menu to see what we will be serving that day. Sign up at The Center or by calling The Center at HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION The Center will be celebrating Halloween on Wednesday, October 31 st. In the spirit of Halloween, we invite you to wear a Halloween costume for our celebration. Anyone wearing a costume will receive a special treat! You will also be voting on the best Halloween costume and that person will receive a special prize. Come join the fun! THE HAPPY BOOMBADEARS What is a Boom-ba? Come to The Center on Thursday, October 11 th at 1 p.m. and find out as The Happy Boombadears share some fun and happiness through this simple percussion instrument!

5 THE CENTER AT SPRING STREET BUS TRIP SCHEDULE The Center at Spring Street bus trips are open to anyone age 55 and over; Center membership is not required. All bus trips depart from The Gilbertsville Shopping Center unless specified otherwise. A $5 (five dollars) deposit will reserve your seat. Final payments must be made by designated date. We reserve the right to fill the reservation if final payment is not made on time. All trips are open for sign-up now.
