Monday thru Friday Phone: lbernhard@boyertownareamulti-service.org From Lori s Desk. I am pleased to announce that all six computers in our computer room have now been upgraded to Windows 7. This would not be possible without the hard work and expertise of our computer instructor, Ron Schoch and Program Coordinator, Debra Brauner. The Center offers a variety of computer classes which include Beginner, Intermediate, Excel, Word, Printer/Scanner, Photos Digital Camera & Digital Photographs. If you would be interested in one of these computer classes, please let us know! On Thursday, February 4 th, at p.m., Family Caregivers Network will be at the Center to offer a presentation on Therapeutic Recreation during the aging process. Therapeutic Recreation is a treatment service designed to restore and improve a person s level of functioning and independence in normal life activities. It promotes health and wellness and helps to reduce limitation on activities of daily living. This program benefits anyone who wants to learn how to maintain or improve his or her functional independence. On Monday, February th, at p.m., LaVerne Moser will display his personal collection of antique music boxes; some date prior to the turn of the 0 th Century. He will share the story behind each music box. You will also have the opportunity to listen to the beautiful melodies as he describes the different mechanisms that give each box a distinctive sound. If you love music boxes, this is one presentation you won t want to miss. Beth Hiriak from Southeastern Home & Health Services will be at the Center on Wednesday, February 0 th, at 0 a.m. to offer a presentation on Have a Heart! Staying Heart Healthy with a Laugh. Learn about the positive health benefits of maintaining a good sense of humor and upbeat attitude. Our Valentine s Day Celebration will be held on Thursday, February th. The celebration will include special favors, a special dessert, and a celebration of couples. To complete the celebration, Elvis Tribute Artist, Jeff Krick will provide the musical entertainment at p.m. Come celebrate Valentine s Day at the Center!

The dancing will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for Center Members with their Center membership card and $6 for nonmembers. Come dance the night away at the Center s Friday Nite Dance! * * * * * * * * * * * * SENI SENI PROM This year the Senior Senior Prom will be held on Friday, March th, from 7-0 p.m., with Classic Touch providing the dance music. If you are looking for a wonderful night out, an opportunity to meet and dance with some awesome teenagers, enjoy great food and great music, then you don t want to miss this year s Senior Senior Prom. Please sign up at The Center or by calling INSPIRING CREATIVITY WITH JULIE LONGACRE Do you love to color? Adults everywhere are rediscovering the relaxation and stress reduction that accompanies the favorite childhood pastime of coloring! Join us at the Center on Tuesday February 6 th at p.m., when accomplished local artist, Julie Longacre, demonstrates how to overlay colors, different types of strokes, cross hatching and how to create depth and contrast. Copies of some of Julie Longacre s drawings and colored pencils will be available for use free of charge, but participants are welcome to bring their own coloring book or pages and colored pencils. Julie will also have some of her own coloring books available for purchase, but a purchase is not required for participation. There is no fee for this workshop, however, advance registration is requested. Please sign up at the Center or by calling the Center at to register no later than February th. If you love to color, this is the perfect winter afternoon activity! * * * * * * * * * * * * SPUNKY OLD BROADS DAY Do you know any Spunky Old Broads? Are you a mature woman over 50 who embraces life with a positive and fun-loving spirit and a feisty attitude? Then you qualify to be a Spunky Old Broad! Although Spunky Old Broads Day and the Red Hat Society are not affiliated with each other, show your Spunk by wearing your red and purple on Thursday, February 5 th! If you have any Spunky Old Broad jokes or stories, please bring them so they can be shared throughout the day and during our announcement time. Treat yourself to a viewing of Nights in Rodanthe with Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
