KIDS JUST WANT YOUR TIME! Even if that time is only 10 minutes of your undivided attention. Being mindful doesn t have to take a long time and is so beneficial f adults and children. It can reduce stress, increase resilience, and most imptantly, improve our relationships. Mindfulness is about bringing attention to our thoughts and feelings without judgement. It is also about taking the time to sit, listen, and enjoy each other. Some ideas f practicing mindfulness with your child: Read with your child Play a game Take a quiet walk outside Practice taking deep breaths and practice that with your child School Counseling lessons began in September in both Kindergarten classes. We started by talking about feelings; times we feel sad, happy, angry, as well as how our bodies experience different emotions. We will move on to coping skills; how to calm our bodies down when we have overwhelming feelings.
