So, in the spirit of starting fresh with a new year, and for lifting your spirits, we give you some of the more aesthetically pleasing beer labels found in our store. 2 Lagunitas Citrusinensis 12pk "We took some fresh Sanguinello Blood oranges, juiced em, concentrated that juice (without heat) and threw it into a wheatier version of our New Dogtown Pale Ale. The end result? A refreshingly hopped pale-ish ale with a huge citrus burst!" 60 IBU's; 7.9% ABV Straight to Ale Unobtainium 6pk Can *Available only in singles (12oz Can - $3.99) at Assembly Location "Unobtanium is a barrel-aged English-style Old Ale that ages for six months in a bourbon barrel, soaking up all sorts of amazing whiskey character as well as hints of oak and vanilla. The name was taken from an old aerospace/engineering term for a specific material or object (often imaginary, impossible or highly improbable to obtain) needed to complete any given project. And, before you ask, we did not take the name from the elusive metal in Avatar. James Cameron reportedly named the substance as an inside joke to his fellow techie/gear-heads. 3 Steven - Manager / Rocket Man Lvivske Mitzne 500mL In the tradition of Zywiec Porter, this one's another high-quality steal from eastern Europe. Ignore the finicky online reviews (a good rule of thumb) Lvivske Mitzne is a 7% strong lager with just enough malt sweetness to give it depth of flavor. Think of it as an amped-up Heineken or a less high-octane Carlsberg Elephant. A total bargain. 7% ABV -Steven's tasting review Young's Double Chocolate Stout 4pk 15oz Can This is one of the great post-dinner, pre-nap, fire-song beers. Chocolatey and malty without tasting like a sugar bomb, Young's is a British import that bucks aggressive American dessert beer trends without sacrificing tastiness. Lower ABV? Plain, un-ironic packaging? So what there's a reason this one sells, and it's not because it's aged in Hershey barrels (it's not) or is a limited release (it never will be). 5 Kasteel Barista Chocolate Quad 750mL "The name Barista conjures thoughts of the fragrance of steaming coffee below a layer of expertly created froth. This may sounds rather far-fetched for a beer... However, the aromas and the flavours of caramel, cacao and roast malt match seamlessly with the black gold and chocolate. This beer builds bridges with the world of hot beverages, with warming alcohol in the finish. One to enjoy all the year round: with a meal, in front of an open fire or on an outdoor terrace." 11% ABV Highland Thunderstruck Coffee Porter 6pk "This robust porter has a full body with some hints of chocolate from the Chocolate Malt and Midnight Wheat. The mild hop aroma showcases the roasted flavors and subtle fruit and spice notes of the artisan fair-trade, organic coffee, roasted in the neighboring town of Black Mountain at Dynamite Roasting Company." 26 IBU s; 5.8% ABV

6 Amos - Stocker / He's Famous Dogfish Head Flesh & Blood IPA 6pk "Flesh & Blood began with a ton of real citrus including lemon flesh and blood orange juice hence the name plus orange and lemon peel. Then the brewers began searching for the perfect combination of hops to perfectly complement the citrus flavors. After trialing number of different hops one-by-one, they emerged with Warrior, Centennial, and a rare experimental hop. So what does this focus on simple, pure unadulterated fruit mean in terms of the aromatics and flavors in this beer? Flesh & Blood balances the resinous hoppy characteristics of an American IPA with the explosive zesty fruitiness and subtle drying tartness of citrus to deliver a highly quaffable ale that s incredibly unique and lovely to down the whole year round." 45 IBU's; 7.5% Dogfish Head Midas Touch 4pk This was the first beer in our Ancient Ales series. This sweet yet dry beer is made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. Somewhere between beer, wine and mead, Midas will please the chardonnay and beer drinker alike. For years, Dogfish Head has worked with biomolecular archaeologist Dr. Patrick McGovern to bring Ancient Ales to life. 8 Two/Evil Pachamama Porter 4pk Our second collaboration with Danish/Brooklyn brewery Evil Twin, Two Roads and Evil Twin have paid homage to Incan heritage by using three Peruvian staple foods in this porter: sweet potatoes, purple mais and aji panca chili peppers. Pachamama is a goddess revered by the indigenous people of the Andes; she is known as the earth mother in Inca mythology. Given that the main ingredients of the 6.5% ABV porter come from the rich Peruvian soil, the two breweries thought the name Pachamama fit this product beautifully. 6.5% ABV "Not your average porter. The taste is something unexpected and exotic, can't really put my finger on it; Could be that the ingredients are so uncommon, could also be that it's just an incredibly well-made beer, either way it's delectable and well worth it." My Untappd Review: "Durm durlurshurs." ~Tylock D9 Systema Natvræ 4pk Systema Naturae (System of Nature) is an exploration of scientific processes and ingredients exhibited throughout the natural world. This addition to the series, Devilwood & Apricots, blends the sweet aroma of Devilwood Blossoms with the musk and tartness of Apricots. Fermented with wild lactobacillus and wild yeast. Naturally conditioned. 6.3% ABV "So I've recently taken up sours as my second favorite style, especially after visiting the Funkatorium in Asheville, NC (I highly recommend a visit). For a while I thought sours were pretty good, but I guess it was time for a change. Naturae has an enticing and interesting aroma, which pulls you into the pucker (not too strong) of the first sip. The aftermath is a wash of flavors that I can't quite put my finger on, delicious ones. This beer would be great for getting someone into sours for the first time." ~Tylock

11 Kurt - Wine Consultant / Anime Enthusiast Narragansett Lager 6pk 16oz Can This beer is brewed just right for drinking crisp and refreshing. It s got more flavor than other premium lagers, yet it s one of the most drinkable beers in the world. Narragansett has the highest rating of all domestic premium lagers on BeerAdvocate.com, and received the bronze medal for American Lagers at the 2008 World Beer Cup. The Lager is old reliable. It was the first beer brewed by The Original Six back in 1890, the bestselling beer in New England from the 1930s to the 1970s, and the official beer of the Boston Red Sox from IBU's; 5% ABV "A cheap, everyday drinker, followed by..." (see below) Samuel Smith Taddy Porter 4pk Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground), malted barley, roasted malt, yeast and hops. Fermented in stone Yorkshire squares. Very dark, fairly full in body and packed with flavor. Intense, dry tangy character of roasted barley. Best served at about 55 F (13 C). 5% ABV "...something with more body and complexity to top it off." ~Kurt
