3 Library News... The Louisa-Muscatine libraries had a busy and productive 206 and we re looking forward to seeing what the new year has in store for us! The elementary library recently hosted their first Usborne Book Fair and it was a success! The book fair brought in a total of $2,88.2 which gives our libraries $,439. to spend in new books to add to our collection. We are so grateful and excited along with the kids who can t wait for all the books to be put out on the shelves! Thank you to everyone who came to the book fair or sent money with your kids to buy books. Every purchase helped us reached our goal and we are truly thankful for the opportunity to put so many great new books in the library. One of the goals set for our libraries this year was developing an official library committee at Louisa-Muscatine. Ideally this committee will be comprised of teachers, administrators, school staff, parents, community members, and students. The committee will help to make decisions regarding our libraries and be a part of discussions about what is happening in both our elementary and secondary library. If you are interested in joining the library committee, please contact Amanda Elliott at aelliott@lmcsd.org or call the school for more information. PTO News: We have several copies of the Elementary Yearbook left if you did not order one last year. They are $0 each and may be picked up in the elementary library. Watch for information coming home about our Annual Carnival, scheduled for Friday, March th, 5-:00 in the elementary building. PTO will award 3-$500 Scholarships to graduating students again this year. Applications with criteria for submission are available in the Counselor s office or on the District website, and are due Friday, April 2st. All meetings are open to the public and begin at 5:00p.m. in the elementary library. Remainder of the year meeting dates include: Feb.3 -- Mar Apr May 8 Island United Methodist Church Lighthouse Clothing Closet.
