All entry forms and fees must be submitted by deadline Tuesday, August 25, Entries made by 4-H agents must include a complete list of individual exhibitors with names and addresses. 2. All exhibits will be received in the crops exhibit and preparation area on the southeast side of the Agriculture/Horticulture Annex of the Small Animal Bldg. 3. Exhibits will be accepted through Gate #1 only with unloading and temporary parking allowed behind the Small Animal Building. 4. All entries exhibited must be entered and shown by the exhibitor. Mailing or shipping crop exhibits to the Colorado State Fairgrounds is discouraged unless someone (other than fair personnel) has been assigned to enter and show them. 5. Exhibits must have been grown by the exhibitor on their farm or in their garden during Misrepresented products will be disqualified and all entry fees forfeited. 6. Entry tags furnished by the Colorado State Fair, specifying the class and number of the entry, must in all cases, be placed in connection with the articles to which it pertains as a guide to the judges. 7. Exhibitors are responsible for presenting exhibits to the judge and removing exhibits from judging areas immediately following each class. Classes will be distinctly called and the Colorado State Fair Management assumes no responsibility for failure of exhibits to be presented to the judge. 8. Judges decisions are final. 9. An exhibitor may not make more than one entry of the same variety in a class. Only items for which there are classes will be accepted. 10. The Superintendent shall rule on proper classification of exhibits. No changes in classification will be made at time of judging unless approved by the Superintendent. 11. The Colorado State Fair has the option to put all exhibits on display that have been awarded placings in the individual classes. 12. With 11 or more entries in a class, the class will be divided into two (2) sections of equal number. Premiums will be paid in both sections as shown.

3 ONIONS DIVISION PREMIUMS: Classes An exhibit shall consist of 12 onions Yellow, Globe type, Colossal, over 3 3/ Yellow, Globe type, Jumbo, over Yellow, Globe type, Medium, 3 1/4 & under 129. White, Globe type, Jumbo, over White, Globe type, Medium, 3 1/4 & under 131. Red, Globe type, Jumbo, over Red, Globe type, Medium, 3 1/4 & under POTATOES DIVISION PREMIUMS: Classes An exhibit shall consist of 20 tubers Red, any variety 152. Chipping type, white 153. White, Non Russet 154. Russets, any other type 155. Blue, any variety 4. All entries exhibited must be entered and shown by the exhibitor. Mailing or shipping crop exhibits to the Colorado State Fairgrounds is discouraged unless someone (other than fair personnel) has been assigned to enter and show them. 5. Exhibits must have been grown in the State of Colorado during 2015 and exhibitor may enter once per class. Fruits offered for competition must have been grown by the individual offering them. Misrepresented products will be disqualified and all entry fees forfeited. 6. Entry tags furnished by the Colorado State Fair, specifying the class and number of the entry, must in all cases, be placed in connection with the articles to which it pertains as a guide to the judges. 7. Suggestions for selecting fruit for show: General appearance of the fruit and care in its selection is a matter of highest importance and should be kept in mind by the exhibitor. Fruit must be in its natural state, not specked, bruised or wormy, with all its parts, stem and calyx segments well preserved. Fruit should be clean and well matured and should be normal to the variety in size, color and marking. In all classes, the important elements are uniformity in size, form, color, condition, ripeness and flavor. Grapes: Consider uniformity and size of the bunches, size of the berries, their color, condition, ripeness and flavor. Strawberries and Raspberries: Consider the size and form, color, flavor, firmness and condition. Strawberries must be shown with the stem and calyx. Box fruit: Consider uniform size, color, packing and general condition of the fruit.

Pumpkin, any other field pumpkin, (2) The Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Winners will be determined by the point system: 1 st Place = 5 points 2 nd Place = 4 points 3 rd Place =3 points 4 th Place = 2 points The CHAMPION JUNIOR HORTICULTURE EXHIBITOR will receive $50.00 and a plate by the Colorado State Fair. THE RESERVE CHAMPION JR. HORTICULTURE EXHIBITOR will receive $25.00 and a Rosette by the Colorado State Fair.

6 GREEN THUMB QUEEN/KING OF OPEN HORTICULTURE To be eligible, an exhibitor must be a Colorado resident. Competitors must enter at least four (4) of the competitive Open Horticulture Department Divisions shown below and place in three (3). The Queen/King of Open Horticulture will be determined on the basis of total ribbon points won, with points to be counted as follows: 1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place 3 Points 2 Points 1 Point OPEN HORTICULTURE DIVISIONS: Commercial Vegetable Packs Fresh Vegetables Root Crops Vine Crops Onions Potatoes Fruit Crops The Colorado State Fair offers the winning Queen/King of Open Horticulture: A rosette $ BEST OF COUNTIES AWARD ROSETTE & $ To be eligible a County must be a county of Colorado. To be eligible a County must enter both Department 116 Horticulture and Department 118 Field Crops & Baled Hay. Exhibitors exhibiting in any of the following Divisions will be affiliated with the County they live in. Prize money will be awarded to the County and will be used for youth programs. (Competing Counties: Please make sure we know who to make the winning check out to and who it is to be mailed to.)
