FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7 The Ag-Hort Building will be open for the delivery of entries at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 7 All exhibits must remain in place until Friday morning following the fair. The Ag-Hort Building will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Friday, September 14 for the pickup of exhibits and premium checks. Exhibitors must write name of variety or kind on each entry tag so the public can identify exhibit,or premiums will be withheld. Best Display of Bees and their activity Section No. 52 AMATEUR WINE COMPETITION OPEN TO WAYNE COUNTY & ADJOINING COUNTIES (ASHLAND, HOLMES, MEDINA, STARK & SUMMIT) Deliver wine to the Grange Rotunda Saturday, Sept 8, 2018, from 10 a.m. 12 noon. An Educational Open-to-the-Public Judging will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1:00 p.m. Rules: 1. Exhibitors must be 21 years of age or older. 2. Wines may be made from grapes, other fruit, berries, vegetables, other suitable ingredients, or blends of these. Kits will be allowed. 3. Ingredients may be fresh, dried, canned, concentrated or otherwise preserved. 4. Wines should be Amateur-Homemade by the process of fermentation and must not be blended with commercial wines. 5. Wines appropriate for fortification may be fortified with suitable commercial spirits. 6. Only one bottle may be entered in each class per exhibitor. 7. Exhibits should be submitted in clear or colored smooth glass bottles of approximately 750 ml. 8. Bottles should have nearly straight sides and a top which can be removed without tools, except for a corkscrew. 9. Bottles should be filled within 1" of the fully installed top or cork and must not be overfilled. 10. Wines should be clear and free of flotation particles (not cloudy). 11. Table wine should be free of effervescence. 12. Any wine considered to be unfit will not be judged. 13. Bottles for judging cannot be labeled with vineyard or producer names. 14. Bottles must be labeled with variety of grape used for classes 1-5 & 7. Bottles must be labeled with type of fruit used for non-grape classes After judging, contents of bottle will be discarded and bottle will be left for display. If a ribbon is awarded it must be left on bottle. 16. All wine entered in this Department must be made by the exhibitor named. 17. Premium checks will be available for pickup Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:30am till noon in Ag Hort building. Unclaimed checks will be mailed after the fair.
