7 Will be presented to the exhibitor gaining most points in classes The Kenny Hanna Memorial Cup Will be presented to the best exhibit in 608 PHOTOGRAPHY Photograph subject Open any subject open to all ages; 701 Either in Colour or Black & White (Please mount on a board no greater than 500mm x 400m) Class 620 Judges Recipe Ingredients; Banana Loaf 100g (4oz) butter, softened 175g (6oz) caster sugar 2 eggs 2 ripe bananas, mashed 225g (8oz) self-raising flour 1 tsp baking powder 2 tbsp milk Method; 1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 C/350 F/Gas Mark 4 and lightly grease a 900g (2lb) loaf tin and line it with non-stick baking parchment. 17 x 9 x 9cm (6½ x 3½ x 3½in) base measurement. 2. Measure all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and beat for about 2 minutes, until well blended. 3. Spoon the mixture into the prepared tin and level the surface. 4. Bake for about 1 hour, until well risen and golden brown. 5. Remove from tin and leave to cool. 7

8 Class Women s Institute Association Recipe Carrot Cake Judges recipe Ingredients; 175g light muscovado sugar, 175ml sunflower oil 3 large eggs, lightly beaten, 140g grated carrot (about 3 medium) 100g raisins, grated zest of 1 large orange 175g self-raising flour, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda 1 tsp ground cinnamon, ½ tsp grated nutmeg For the frosting 175g icing sugar, 1½-2 tbsp orange juice Method; 1. Heat the oven to 180C/fan160C/gas 4. Oil and line the base and sides of an 18cm square cake tin with baking parchment. 2. Tip the sugar, oil and eggs into a large mixing bowl. Lightly mix with a wooden spoon. Stir in the grated carrots, raisins and orange rind. 3. Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda and spices into the bowl. Mix everything together, the mixture will be soft and almost runny. 4. Pour the mixture into the prepared tin and bake for minutes or until it feels firm and springy when you press it in the centre. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then turn it out, peel off the paper and cool on a wire rack. 5. Beat the frosting ingredients in a small bowl until smooth and runny. Drizzle the icing over the top, letting it drip down the sides. 8
