3 RULES 1. ENTRIES are cordially welcomed at 20p per entry. Only one entry allowed per Class. 2. STAGING The Hall will be open on Saturday night from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. and on Sunday from 8.00 a.m. and all articles intended for competition must be staged by a.m. on the day of Exhibition and can only be removed after its close at 4.30 p.m. The Society provides vases for staging Cut Spikes of Flowers, but in the staging of Cut Blooms in Classes where Boards and Bowls are specified, they must be provided by the Exhibitor. Each article staged must have an entry card, which will be provided at the Hall. 3. No Competitor will be allowed to remove exhibits from the tables before the close of the Exhibition. 4. All Cups and Trophies are the property of the Society, and cannot be won outright. They should be handed in to W.J. Blair, The Square, Kelso for engraving. 5. Prize Money will be paid in the Secretary s Office between 2.30 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. on day of show. 6. Prize Money not claimed on the day of the Show will be returned to the Society s funds. 7. Points will be awarded as follows: First (3 points); Second (2 points); Third (1 point); Fourth ( 1 / 2 point). For any cup or trophy where points gained result in a tie, the exhibitor with the most first prizes will be adjudged the winner. 8. The Society cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to exhibits. 9. Experienced persons will be appointed Judges, who shall have power to withhold prizes when articles are not considered to be of sufficient merit. In all cases their decisions shall be final. 10. All exhibits in Handicrafts Section must have been completed during twelve months prior to date of show.

The cut ends of the stems if all living plant material must be in water or water retaining material. CONTAINERS, which may be of any type must be supplied by the Competitors. The use of Stands or Bases for Containers is permissible. ACCESSORY is any figure, ornament, drape, etc. used to enhance the artistic value of an arrangement. Size A4) Dyed Egg Sweet Muffins, undecorated (3) A Trophy for Best Exhibit in Classes Ingredients: 200g (8oz) margarine 2 limes (rind only) 200g (8oz) caster sugar 4 eggs 200g (8oz) self raising flour 2tbsp milk 50g (2oz) desiccated coconut Topping: 4tbsp caster sugar 2 limes (juice only) Method: Preheat oven to 180⁰C / 350⁰F / Gas Mark 4. Line a 2lb loaf tin with a paper cake case. In a large bowl, use a wooden spoon to cream the margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the other ingredients and mix together until everything well combined. Carefully spoon into the prepared tin and bake for approx. 45mins until golden brown and a skewer comes out clean. In a small bowl, dissolve the caster sugar in the lime juice to make the topping. Let the cake rest for 5 mins then transfer to a wire rack and drizzle over the topping. Once the topping is dry, remove the paper case.

Materials: Approx. 150g of very soft DK baby yarn in white or pastel colours With 4mm Needles, cast on 102 sts., knit 18 rows. Knit the first and last 9 sts. of each row to create a garter stitch border, while working the following pattern on the centre 84 sts. Row 1: Knit 11, Purl 1 Row 5: Knit 7, Purl 5 Row 9: Knit 3, Purl 9 Row 2: Knit 2, Purl 10 Row 6: Knit 6, Purl 6 Row 10: Knit 10, Purl 2 Row 3: Knit 9, Purl 3 Row 7: Knit 5, Purl 7 Row 11: Knit 1, Purl 11 Row 4: Knit 4, Purl 8 Row 8: Knit 8, Purl 4 Row 12: Purl 11, Knit 1 Repeat pattern and garter stitch borders until the work measures 24. Knit 18 rows. Cast off.
