4 Our 150-acre site is home to over 350 thought-provoking memorials covering both military and civilian associations, along with tributes for individuals. Rich in design and symbolism, and sympathetic to the lush gardens they inhabit, the memorials and their stories are fascinating. The Arboretum features around 30,000 trees and is home to a variety of flora and fauna making it a haven for nature lovers to enjoy. With lots to see, plenty to explore, and with easy access from across the country, the National Memorial Arboretum is a perfect venue for group visitors. Best of all, it s FREE to enter* but, as a charity, we welcome donations. Daily Talks Act of Remembrance The Daily Act of Remembrance includes a short service and Two Minute Silence, followed by a short introduction to our history and grounds. We recommend you are seated in the Chapel for 10.50am. A welcome talk is also available at 2pm. FREE. Booking not required. Far East Prisoners of War Talk The Far East Prisoners of War Memorial Building is a museum in its own right and well worth a visit. Join one of our guides at 12noon outside the building for a short talk about the servicemen and women who fought in the Far East during World War II. FREE. Booking not required. Shot at Dawn Memorial Talk Held at 1.30pm each day, this moving talk highlights the story of the 309 soldiers shot at dawn during World War I. FREE. Booking not required. Mobility Scooters and Wheelchairs Mobility scooters and wheelchairs are available to hire. Please ring to book. Familiarisation Trips We would love to welcome you for a familiarisation trip before your visit. Please call us to book. * A charge applies to the Landscapes of Life Exhibition. Guided Walks, Tours and Exhibitions Enhance your visit with one of our guided walks. Our experienced volunteer guides are very knowledgeable about the history of our site, the memorials featured and our plans for the future. Join them on a guided walk at 11.30am and 2.30pm every day to hear their fascinating insights. Alternatively book one of our special guided wildlife walks to learn all about the wildlife on our site. Subject to availability. Guided walks last approximately 45 minutes. Pre-booking is required for groups. Explore our permanent exhibition, Landscapes of Life, which helps to interpret the cultural significance of Remembrance and how we, as individuals and a society, have and continue to remember. Then venture out into the grounds with our audio guide to delve deeper into the meaning of more than 90 memorials. Keep an eye on our website for details of our temporary exhibition programme. Take a trip on our covered Land Train and enjoy the running commentary as you explore the grounds of the Arboretum and the symbolism behind the memorials. The tour lasts for approximately 50 minutes. 5 Food Packages Make your visit to the Arboretum more relaxing by pre-booking one of our food packages. All of the packages include tea and coffee, reserved seating and waitress service. We can add wine to your package if you fancy that extra special treat. High Tea served after 2.30pm Enjoy a delicious High Tea which includes a variety of freshly prepared sandwiches, an assortment of pastries, scones, cakes and biscuits with a colourful fruit platter Lunch Packages 12pm 2.00pm One-Course Lunch Pre-book lunch for your group and enjoy one of our homemade lunches. There is a variety of dishes on offer, including meat, vegetarian and fish dishes Two-Course Lunch There is always room for dessert! Upgrade your package to a 2 course lunch which includes one of our homemade hot desserts or fabulous cakes Arboretum Signature Sausage and Mash For the perfect indulgent lunch, try our unique Arboretum sausage made from free range Packington Pork, Nottingham Bramley Apples and secret spices, accompanied with creamy leek and mustard mash and a rich red onion gravy. For this package all visitors must have the same meal. Vegetarian sausages are available Cream Tea For those who are looking for a lighter bite, take advantage of our tasty Cream Tea. With freshly baked scones, fruity jam and clotted cream, this option provides the perfect snack on arrival or before your journey home Rustic Platter served after 2.30pm This rustic treat is great for those with a more savoury palate. 6 Tailor-Made Tours The perfect way to make sure your visit to the Arboretum is extra special, our Tailor-Made Tours are whole day packages allowing you to explore the Arboretum at your own pace. For parties of up to seven people, we will provide an experienced guide who will be your personal host for the day. Learn all about the memorials and hear the fascinating stories about the Arboretum grounds. Halfway through your day you will break for lunch and enjoy a two-course meal in our beautiful Remembrance Centre. This package makes a perfect birthday or anniversary gift for loved ones, treating them to a VIP experience for the day. For every booking made through our website, the Arboretum, which is a registered charity, receives 5% commission. Visiting Staffordshire You could spend a whole day or more exploring the Arboretum, but if you do want to discover the wider area, there is lots on offer. Why not combine a visit to us with one of the other exciting attractions in Staffordshire or the National Forest. Gift Shop Our on-site Gift Shop offers the perfect opportunity for some retail therapy. We have a wide range of products on offer including books, poppy items, confectionery and home accessories. Outside Talks Our team of expert volunteer guides can provide external talks to your group on a wide range of Arboretum related subjects. Coach Driver Refreshments When you pre-book your visit with us, your coach driver will receive a voucher on arrival to spend in our restaurant. We also provide free coach parking and drop off and pick up points. When pre-booking the exhibition for a group of 10+ the driver will receive free entry.

8 How to find us By car: From the A38 at Alrewas there are brown signs to the National Memorial Arboretum. Follow the A513 towards Tamworth for about half a mile. Take the first exit at the roundabout and follow the road to the National Memorial Arboretum car park. Pay and display charges apply. Free pre-booked coach parking is available. Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley railway stations (5-6 miles), Burton upon Trent (8 miles) and Tamworth (8 miles). Taxi services operate.
