3 GENERAL INFORMATION Please read prior to volunteering -- THANKS! The shelter houses up to 49 individuals. When there are 40 people in the shelter, there are beds for women and 28 men (9 more beds can be used as needed). 2 If you will have youth (under the age of 8) in your group helping, they must be supervised by an adult at all times. 3 Please provide dinner for 60+ individuals. Your generosity ensures second helpings for Haven House residents. 4 Interfaith provides plates, silverware, napkins, and drinks. Residents and staff do all the clean up after dinner. If you are serving soup or chili, please provide bowls. 5 Food should be prepared prior to arriving. There is no oven. A stove-top is available when not in use. Serving utensils are available in our kitchen for your use. 6 There is a five position steam table for your use. Please use the steam table to keep food warm (not for cooking). 7 Please arrive NO EARLIER than 6:5 pm to set up. You can start serving dinner when you are ready. 8 In case of a double dinner booking (it can happen), please work together. Any leftover food is used the next morning at Interfaith's daily Morning Soup Kitchen. We do not waste food here! IN A PINCH DINNERS (IAP) Please refer to the next worksheet for more details! When you donate $5 for an IAP dinner, you enable our staff to purchase and provide dinner on the nights that aren't filled. Thank YOU for providing a meal to people in our shelter! If you have any questions, please contact: Micki Hickox, Volunteer Services Manager , ext. 204 Updated:
4 IN A PINCH DINNERS (IAP) In a Pinch (IAP) dinners have been very helpful in fullfilling open dinner nights at the shelter. If you look at the calendar and see red text, those nights were filled by IAP dinners. By donating $5, you enable Interfaith staff to purchase and provide dinner on nights when we don't have volunteers signed up to bring dinner. An in-kind donation receipt will be mailed to you after you make the monetary donation. You can drop off or send cash, a check, or pay online. Please reference "Haven House IAP". If you do not reference Haven House IAP, we will not have access to the funds. Please send me an if you do send cash or a check, so I can keep track of what we receiv If you want to help this way, we will pick up all the food and your volunteers can help serve it! Send Checks or Cash to: Interfaith Community Services Attn: Micki Hickox 550 W Washington Ave,, CA Memo on check: Haven House IAP Online Payment Instructions: Visit: Select Donate (upper right-hand corner of web page) From "How should we use your donation?"
