1 Buninyong School News Building Better Futures Myall Street, Dubbo NSW 2830 Ph: Fax: Week 3 Term 2 Tuesday 15th May 2018 NAPLAN Today we started out NAPLAN testing. Years 3 and 5 will have testing for the next 3 days. We ask that students are on time ready to start, keeping disruptions to a minimum. A good breaky in the morning is a must and a water bottle is also encouraged. Having a good nights sleep helps with concentration. Nothing to worry about, just do your best. That's all we ask. Show Great day at the show even though the littlies nearly froze! So many prizes for our art - proud moment for us all. Thanks to Mrs Blake for putting all our entries together and getting them to the show. Thikkabilla Tyrone Gordon started last Friday working with our Stage 2 and 3 students on dance and team building. This week he starts the cultural journey into our classrooms with half the school. Then the remaining classes next term. He will be supported by our Aboriginal teachers and SLSOs. Looking forward to the learning, the program looks tremendous. Walk Safely to School Day Friday is Walk Safely to School Day. There was a great article in the Liberal all about our Walking Bus. I got credit for the idea but that credit needed to go to Lorna and her initial planning. The bus just grew from there. See you at the school gate to get your sticker when you walk safely to school. Anne van Dartel Principal Year 6 Personal Development As Personal Development for Year 6 is part of the curriculum, we will be running boys and girls sessions with qualified nurses tomorrow. Sessions will be supervised and take place at school during the day. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the school. BPS Vegie Patch We have fresh vegetables for sale at the front office. Very reasonable prices. All proceeds go back into resources for the school. WANTED - If anyone has any plastic pots at home they don't need, please drop them at the front office, any size would be greatly appreciated. Uniforms We have long sleeved polo shirts in stock for sale for the cooler months for $ Please enquire at the front office. Stage 3 Aussie Bush Camp - Week 6, Term 3 Just a friendly reminder to make regular payments towards the excursion. No amount is too small. Its sometimes easier to make small regular payments then one large one. The front office takes payments via cash, cheque, eftpos or via the POP online portal. The excursion will be here before you know it. PBL Booster We keep our hands and feet to ourselves 1
