4 Message from the President Attendance is growing at the center and we love seeing everyone. Please welcome the new members and introduce yourself when you see a new face. I am pleased to announce that Dianne Carroll is the new Director of the Bedford Senior Community Center. Let s give her our wholehearted support and grow our Center! We have a new web site and I encourage everyone to visit the site, The site has the most recent copy of the newsletter, the lunch menu, schedule of activities and other important information or new activity that is planned. Thanks to all that attended the annual meeting and election of board members. The Advisory Board welcomes suggestions and participation in committees. Newly elected to Board positions are Harriet Rochowiak, and Tina Welch. Serving as alternates for the first time are Bob Weitzel and Grace Peitz. (Please read the entire list of members on page 2.) Officers for the year continue to be Becky Vincent, President and Naomi Bowlin, Vice President. I especially want to thank those members and alternates that have left the board after serving their term. Barbara Basye, LeRoy Bunge, Barbara Kinney, Wayne Thompson and John Paschen. There are several committees that work throughout the year and we welcome participation from members of the center. Please consider joining one of the following committees: Building and Grounds, Nutrition Program, Finance or Membership. All of the committees are very important but the Program Committee is always in need of ideas, suggestions and volunteers. Contact me or Dianne for more information. The phone number for the Center is Very important. When you arrive at the Center it is very important that you immediately sign in using the scanner located inside the dining room door. Equally important is to sign out when you leave for the day. The Center receives funding from the Commission on Aging based on the length of time you spend at the Center. In order to properly calculate the time, both your arrival time and departure time are very important and necessary. The newsletter always has a list of people that we thank for donations made to the Center. But we had a very generous gift of a new microwave for the kitchen from an anonymous donor. Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous we thank you! The schedule of activities are listed in the newsletter and on the web site. You are encouraged to join any group. Come to the Center, meet new people and have fun. Again a hearty thank you to all our volunteers. See you at the Center, Becky Vincent, President If you have unused prescription drugs or over-the-counter drugs that need to be destroyed see the enclosed flyer for details on dropping them off at the Bedford Senior Center on Saturday, September 26, Call Dianne if you have any questions at
