4 The Bedford Dial-A-Ride, Your Hometown Bus! Bedford Dial-A-Ride s curb to curb service has been viable and growing for over 20 years. It is Public Transportation at its finest for the residents of Lambertville, Samaria, and Temperance. The buses are equipped with lifts to load passengers in wheelchairs, with walkers or canes, or anyone that cannot maneuver steps very well. They also have bike racks. The buses are clean, comfortable and safe, having one of the lowest accident rate statistics in the industry. They provide a smooth ride and are big enough to accommodate large groups of people when needed. At any hour of service there are 1-25 riders on each of the 2 buses, with as many as 115 riders per day. The fairs are also economical: Seniors pay 50 each way or $1.00 for an All-Day Pass. Last year alone the buses provided over 20,000 trips. Anyone in Bedford can use the service. Seniors who don t drive can enjoy their independence by going shopping, to medical appointments, out to dinner, even to a friend or relative s home to visit. The child care facilities take their little ones on field trips and working parents have their children taken to the Library or the YMCA. The options are endless and the buses help support the economy of our Township. The Bedford Dial-A-Ride also provides transportation to and from Monroe and also Toledo, where passengers can connect with TARTA, Greyhound, and the Megabus. The Bedford Dial-A-Ride is paid for mostly through a local millage and the state government. The Lake Erie Transportation Commission is committed to providing Bedford with high-quality, safe and cost effective transportation to meet the needs of a growing community that depends on public transit. The Bedford Dial-A-Ride is your Hometown Bus! To schedule a ride call Enhance Fitness Seniors, do you want to: Have a great time? Make new friends? Grow stronger? Improve your balance? Become limber?
