3 Welcome A warm welcome to our thirteenth Planet Thanet Easter Beer Festival here at the Winter Gardens Margate. This year Tashy has been off with the RAF preparing to celebrate their 100th Birthday on 1 st April, the day after our festival finishes! Taking on the role of Beer Festival Organiser this year has been a steep learning curve but with much help from the Festival Committee this has been a pleasure and already we are thinking of 2019 s Festival. Of course the Volunteers whether on the Committee, those who have been here all week setting up and those serving over the 2 days are what really make our festival happen. Not forgetting those who will be back on Monday and Tuesday to return the Winter Gardens to its usual state. There are lots of roles within the Festival Committee and we are always looking for fresh faces, it is an excellent opportunity to learn more about CAMRA and to become involved in the campaign. As always the Kent Bar will have an excellent selection of our counties finest! On the Ale Bar there s a good showing from London breweries and a fine collection from across our fair land. There will be many tantalising beverages out there that we won t be used to seeing on the Isle. I am sure that you would agree that our festival offers an excellent opportunity to taste an amazing selection of ale, cider and perry. We have arranged a variety of musical entertainment for the festival, which we hope you will enjoy. The Winter Gardens have a separate food hall and offer a good selection of food to keep you going throughout the day. Before my final words I would like to let you know about our chosen charity. This year it will be the two RAF Air Cadet Units based in Thanet who are in desperate need of musical instruments, I m sure you have heard them play during the local carnivals, as well as equipment for Duke of Edinburgh and basic First Aid equipment too. So my final words are to thank all the sponsors of this festival, the Festival Committee and Volunteers who make this happen and to you for coming along today. Please take care of yourselves and have a fantastic time. Cheers Jo Walbank Thanet CAMRA Branch Chairman & Beer Festival Organiser The Cider Bar this year has wide range of different ciders. For a Real Cider look at those that are unpasteurised but we also have a range of flavoured and fruit ciders to tempt you. We also have a good selection of traditional ciders from across Great Britain as well as many Kent ones. Don t forget to have a look at our Bottle Bar which includes international and speciality bottles, including a few sparkling ciders for those looking for something different. We also have a good selection of Vegan and Gluten Free on the Bottle Bar, if you need help ask our volunteers. PLANET THANET Easter Beer Festival

It was originally brewed to support the 100th year anniversary of the Fleet Air Arm, but is now available all year due to its incredible popularity. WEST BY THREE Swansea, Swansea 170. IPA#3 - West Coast 5.2% Our take on the quintessential style of American IPAs, as easy drinking as it is tasty. This malt forward throwback might not be what the cool kids are drinking but it is the classic IPA we grew up on. The rich malts are balanced with bitterness. A combination of piney bittering hops creates a refreshing botanical leaning blend that perfectly cuts the sweetness of the malt. Sitting on top, you will find aromas of citrus and stone fruits from a delicate dry hops of Amarillo. PLANET THANET Easter Beer Festival

WESTERHAM BREWERY Westerham, Kent, ENGLAND Spirit of Kent 4.0% Gluten Free - Vegan Friendly 50cl There was a distinct swing of the compass about the nose, as it touched all points citrus sweetness (mandarin), earthiness and pungent hop sack.
