2 FROM OUR FAMILy TO yours Italian Bottega is a family affair. We are carrying on the Giordano family culinary traditions, which our predecessors unknowingly developed over five generations, when it was simply about great, genuine food. The importance of base ingredients is at the heart of these traditions, and our product range aims to bring these traditions from our table to yours, from our family, to yours. The culinary story and appreciation of quality food which has transcended for generations in our family goes back to the mid-1800 s when Karl s maternal great-grandfather Paolo Berio founded the Fratelli Berio of Imperia Oneglia, Liguria that was quintessentially renowned as a pioneer in the olive oil industry; with representation across the globe, earning accolades not limited to gold medals at the 1915 International Show in San Francisco, or the 1935 Exposition Universelle et Internationale, in Brussels Belgium to name a few. By the end of the 1990 s in the United States, we decided to go back to the food business in Nashville, Tennessee, opening A Taste of Italy, a market/deli/restaurant as well as importing high-end food products including, Rovagnati prosciutto, Inaudi porcini mushrooms in oil, Isnardi Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The initiative was well received and crowned by success. Now a B2B importer of fine Italian food products, we put great effort into selecting the quality foods we carry, and are constantly searching the lengths of the Italian peninsula, directly sourcing high quality Italian food from small-scale quality artisan producers, and gourmet delicatessen to everyday Italian essentials. Our focus is particularly with certified Organic, DOP and IGP products. As we are in direct contact with producers we hold greater quality control, and benefit from competitive profit margins for our distributors and retailers. Timely delivery is ensured from our centrally located warehouse based near St. Louis, Missouri.
