The Center will be kicking off November with its annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 4 th, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The bazaar will include a bake sale, flea market, silent auction, basket raffle and a light lunch will be available for purchase from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local Artist, Julie Longacre will also be at our bazaar with her New 2017 Christmas Card ( The Skaters at Melcher Mill Pond), Christmas tree prints on canvas, notecards, coloring books, prints, paintings and books. We have 20 vendors with their handmade crafts which include pillows, soaps, jewelry, counted cross stitch, Christmas crafts and decorations, centerpieces, wreaths and sprays, scarves, hats, afghans, honey & wax candles, and wooden birdhouses and wood scroll saw art. The admission is free and the bazaar is open to the public. Start your Christmas shopping early at The Center s Holiday Bazaar! Please note: The Center will be closing at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 3 rd in order to set up for the Holiday Bazaar. The Center will be honoring our Veterans during a pinning ceremony at our Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10 th beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Jr. ROTC cadets under the direction of Naval Science Instructor Chief Theodore Peterson, United States Navy, Retired, will participate in honoring our Veterans. We invite Veterans or spouses of Veterans to participate in this moving program. The Center will be holding its 23 rd Annual Talent Show under the direction of Choral Director, Robin Ward on Tuesday, November 14 th at 1 p.m. The Center is looking for volunteers to share their talents whether it s singing, dancing, telling jokes, painting, etc. If interested, please sign up at The Center or by calling The Center at

COLORING WITH A PURPOSE WITH JULIE LONGACRE No longer are crayons and colored pencils solely the instrument of the elementary school artist adults from all walks of life are realizing the benefits of sitting down with a good old fashioned coloring book. On Tuesday, November 7 th from 6 to 8 p.m. join us for Coloring with a Purpose with Julie Longacre, accomplished local artist. Colored pencils will be available for use free of charge, but participants are welcome to bring their own. Children 5 years of age and older accompanied by an adult are welcome to attend. Advance registration is requested. Please sign up at The Center or by calling The Center at FRIDAY NITE DANCE The Center will hold its Friday Nite Dance on Friday, November 10 th from 7:30-10:30 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The band Shake, Rattle & Soul will provide oldies music to keep you on the dance floor. Admission is $5 for Center members with membership card and $6 for non members. Light refreshment will be available to purchase. SENIOR LIFE On Monday, November 13 th at 1:00 p.m., Susan Aldworth will be at The Center to discuss Senior LIFE. Come learn about Senior LIFE, a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). The program provides medical, healthcare and personal support services for seniors who want to remain living in their home, but need support services to do so. MEAL CANCELLATIONS If you are signed for a meal and you are unable to come to The Center for lunch, please be sure to cancel your meal reservation at least one day in advance if possible. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. NUTRITIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE The Center is looking for volunteers to serve on a Nutritional Advisory Committee (NAC) to be advocates, supporters and ambassadors for our meal program. The NAC would be part of a think tank that would offer input and ideas on menu items, menu planning and development. In addition, the committee would offer ways to improve our meal program. The Center is hopeful that the committee would also gain insight and knowledge into the behind the scenes operations as to what is involved in offering a successful meal program at The Center. The committee should include, but not limited to, Center members, volunteers and staff. If you would be interested in being a member of the NAC, please sign up at The Center or by calling The Center at Together, we can make our Center meal program better! MULTI-SERVICE TOUR There is always something new to learn about Boyertown Area Multi-Service! On Tuesday, November 4 th at 10 a.m., join our staff and volunteers for an engaging tour of Multi-Service and The Center at Spring Street. Learn about the many services we provide, programs to get involved with and the numerous ways you can support the agency. All bus trips depart from The Gilbertsville Shopping Center unless specified otherwise. A $5 (five dollars) deposit will reserve your seat. Final payments must be made by designated date.
