It is the latest ranking system and if you are interested in competing, most likely the event will be a UTR event. UTR stands for Universal Tennis Rating, an algorithm-based system. It ranks every player on one unified scale.

8 Most of you are familiar with the NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) which ranked players on a scale of 1.0 to 7.0. UTR calculates your rating based on the number of games, rather than the number of matches you win, and factors in your opponent s rating. UTR only includes results from your 30 most recent matches. A global rating like UTR is very motivating for all levels of players, says UTR consultant Dave Miley. The scale goes from 0.50 to Roger Federer was rated at the start of 2018 and Simona Halep was ranked Comparing pros to non-pros gives all players who compete an idea of where they fall. Top ranked college player, Martin Redlicki, is ranked 14.42, while a junior player, Whitney Osuigwe, is A typical club player is 6.0. Advocates feel as though this rating system can help someone pick the right adult league, find the most competitive match at a local club, or help one get recruited to play college tennis. UTR has over 650,000 rated players from over 190 countries and has processed over 6 million results. It is good to know this as many local tournaments in Lubbock are playing as UTR events. We held a junior UTR at Hillcrest in March and had a great turnout. See you on the courts!

No swimsuits, halter-tops, or torn jeans are permitted in the Hillcrest Dining Room. Collared shirts are required at all times. Men are requested to remove hats while dining. It is requested that members shall dress in a manner befitting the surroundings and atmosphere of our club. It is also requested that members shall advise their guest and children of our dress requirements. Members of the club are expected to pay their accounts in-full on a monthly basis. If a member's account is over 30 days past due, the member is assessed a $20 late payment fee. Daily Pro Shop charges will be paid before leaving each day either by cash, check or credit card. If a member's account is over 60 days past due, the membership and all privileges to the club are suspended and the membership is terminated. In some cases, which require approval by management, the former member may reinstate their membership by paying the account in-full, plus monthly dues that have passed in the interim. Otherwise, the member cannot make application to the club for a period of one calendar year from the time that their membership is terminated and only then if the account has been paid in-full.
