1 Editor: Deb Dutton, CEO, The Windmill Rembrandt Court Issue May 2018 Home Care Hub 1 Madras Street, Oaklands Park SA Greenfields Drive, Green Fields SA 5107 Ph The weekly newsletter of Rembrandt Living Ph LIFESTYLE Birthdays in May: Happy Birthday to the following residents: 10 May Willemina Reiman 10 May Margje Ketellapper 13 May Catharina van de Wiel 14 May Irena Plen-Stuckey 14 May Alida Regter 15 May Anna Fieg 20 May Elisa van Hasselt 21 May Irena White 21 May John Hammerl Resident Feedback The Residents Meeting held Wednesday 2 May was attended by -residents and 2 staff members. Comments: The Residents Meeting which was scheduled for 11 th April was not attended by any staff member and therefore was cancelled. (Noted that this was the 2 nd day of Reaccreditation and staff rostered for the meeting were not able to attend due to Reaccreditation). Meat in the Bolognaise which was served two weeks ago was of very poor quality (too much gristle). Hotel Services Coordinator replied that meat was purchased from the same butcher as normal but will address this issue with the butcher. Fish served on a Friday is usually dry by the time the food is delivered to House 7. Also the schnitzel served yesterday was dry. Hotel Services Coordinator explained that the meat and fish needs to be cooked and tested to a certain temperature. Recent vegetarian serving was very small. It was explained that a number of complaints over time was because residents believed the food portions were too large and food was being wasted. Residents can ask for larger portions or 2 nd servings. Comment was made that residents do not get feedback from any comments/complaints made at the Residents Meetings. HR Manager suggested that at the start of each week s Residents Meeting, the notes of the previous meeting should be read and feedback given. Fridge door in House 6 does not close fully unless it is physically pushed by hand. Maintenance to adjust fridge legs to enable free closure of fridge door. Residents in House 7, requested that care staff greet each resident at the start of shifts and say goodbye at the end of their shift. Some care staff do this however not all and residents appreciate the communication between residents and staff.
