The program is limited to current MCCOA clients with a simple application required. The funds will be utilized to provide pet food, storage containers, pet supplies, temporary boarding and delivery expenses on a case-by-case basis. This is a result of the reorganization of the company as it no longer is the insurer of last resort in Michigan. To help people understand what is happening and why the increase is taking place, MMAP counselors throughout the region are holding informational sessions for Medicare beneficiaries. Attendees will receive information on other options for supplemental coverage as well. The next planned session is scheduled for Wednesday, September 21st at 3 p.m. at the Atlanta Senior Center, M-33 North, Atlanta. Susan Bowen, MMAP Regional Coordinator, will be presenting.
