Just drive up to the north entrance of Senior Services and Bring your old paper records Your items are shredded on-site through the Allshred Company. AARP has helped Ohioans shred over 10 tons of waste and takes pride in helping people protect their personal information and help in the fight against identity fraud. More than 37 vendors and agencies joined us to share valuable information on a wide variety of topics geared toward today s older adult. Come visit one of YOUR senior centers every day! It brightens the mind and helps the soul. (& you get a great meal as well!) GROCERY SHOPPING TRIPS TUESDAYS & THURSDAYS at 12:00 NOON Reserve a seat by calling before 11:00am on the day of the trip. We ll continue to alternate shopping trips to Defiance Walmart and Meijer. We ll leave the Defiance Center at 3:45pm - join us!! Thursday, September 21st - at 10:00am Kim from Great Lakes Caring will speak on the Silent Transition. Be aware of subtle changes in your loved ones and learn more about available resources. Friday, September 22nd - It s our Card Club Party! The fun begins at 9:30am with food, cards and door prizes. Monday, September 25th - Dawn Ludwig from Twin Rivers hosts Nails and Tales. Visit with Dawn Ludwig at 10:00am to have your nails painted with some fun conversation. Wednesday, September 27th - The CSFP Commodities Program Distribution in Defiance - 1:00 to 2:30pm - Call Ginny for details Also on September 27th - our Evening Meal begins at 5:00pm - we ll enjoy a delicious meal of Beef Tips, mashed potatoes, 7 layer salad and more. From 6:30pm until 7:30 - it s the tight harmonies of the wonderful barbershop group - Northwesternairs!! Reserve your seat NOW Saturday, September 30th - it s the Defiance Ribfest - The Senior Services Auxiliary will again provide the pop and water for this fun-filled event. The Ribfest begins at 4:00pm - come enjoy delicious ribs, fries, music, desserts and stop by a say hi at our refreshment table!
7 D E F I A N C E C O U N T Y S E N I O R S E R V I C E S S E P T E M B E R Nutrition News Our September Evening Meal Join us Wednesday, September 27th Our monthly Birthday Celebration will be Friday, Sept. 1st A Happy Birthday to all of you born in September. at 5:00pm for our Evening Meal at The Senior Center. At 5:00pm - we ll enjoy a delicious meal of Beef Tips with mushrooms and onions, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, 7 layer salad and cherry cheese cake for dessert. From 6:30pm until 7:30 - it s the tight harmonies of the wonderful Northwesternairs!! If you enjoy barbershop music - you ll love this talented and fun group! Reserve your seat NOW Participants may determine for themselves what they are able to contribute toward the cost of a meal. No older adult will be denied a nutrition service due to inability to contribute. Our suggested donation for a lunch is $3.00. Evening Meals and events may be more. Thank you Commodities Supplemental Food Program Food for Seniors - Touching Lives, Filling Needs.. Many older adults may be at nutritional risk due to chronic illness, medications, economic status, and mobility issues. The C.S.F.P. Program provides eligible seniors, age 60 and older, a monthly package of approximately 50 pounds of USDA basic nutrient-rich food.
