1 Welcome to Popham Court Popham Court is a care home providing nursing and residential care in the heart of. The Court provides personal care and day care in a charming building set in award-winning gardens. Nursing care is provided at Popham House. Both buildings are located in pretty gardens adjacent to Park. Our dedicated and skilled team aim to meet the needs of the many men and women who choose to make us their home. We offer a high quality professional service and strive to promote the health and wellbeing of all residents. Debah Lane, Manager Popham Court stands in spacious gardens, just a sht walk from the town centre and the varied shopping and leisure amenities of, offering the highest standards of both nursing and residential care, either longer term f respite breaks. Care and suppt is provided in separate nursing and residential facilities on the same site, meaning that as a resident s care needs become me complex they can remain in the same area rather than having to move away. Residential care is provided at The Court, a charming Grade II listed building with a rich histy. Originally a country mansion and residence of the Fox family, it was taken over as a residential home by Somerset County Council in the 1950s. At the same time, the Fox family donated the surrounding land to the Council and this was used to create the school and park, views of which can be enjoyed throughout the home. The Court benefits from accessible and award-winning gardens to the rear of the home, with pleasant walks and seating areas f residents to enjoy the garden and views. Popham House was built by the council within the grounds of The Court in It was iginally a home f blind people, but is now a nursing home providing 24 hour care.

2 What do people say about Popham Court? On first stepping into the entrance hall we knew this was the place to be. The staff are always happy to help, food is amazing, tasty, interesting and nutritious. The level of care goes beyond wds. When in his last few days staff came in to sit with my father, so on those moments when I couldn t be there he was never alone. - Daughter of a fmer resident We aim to create an attractive and comftable environment. All of the bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard, and residents are encouraged to personalise their room. All rooms are single, however we may be able to offer shared room accommadation if required. Some rooms have en-suite facilities, whilst all have a nurse call system, vanity unit and access to the lift. The residential and nursing homes have separate, well-appointed dining rooms and communal areas with views of the garden. The Court has retained some of its iginal features, such as the attractive dining room fireplace. Serving delicious and nutritious meals Popham Court benefits from its own kitchen and catering staff, with meals prepared daily on-site, to suit a wide range of dietary requirements. There are varied menus ensuring plenty of choice f residents. These are served in the dining room, although residents may choose to have meals in their room if they prefer. Keeping active We have an activities co-dinat who ganises a variety of activities f residents to take part in. We have IT facilities available f all to use including Wi-Fi and Skype, which can be used to maintain contact with friends and relatives that may not live locally. 5 A warm welcome to Popham Court is located in the friendly town of. A bit of histy is a small rural town in Somerset, situated on the edge of the Blackdown Hills near to the bder of Devon. The town has a rich and varied histy; an early mention of it as Weolingtun can be found in a grant made around 900, it was subsequently known as Walintone in the 1086 Domesday Book, and made a town by Royal Charter in Recent excavations have uncovered sites dating from the Bronze Age, as well as me recent discoveries from the 12th to 14th century. The town has been heavily involved in the cloth industry, and Fox s Brothers, founded in the 19th century, is still going strong today. remains a lively, vibrant town with a thriving farmers market and many small independent shops.
