Wednesday: Scrambled eggs, fried eggs, home fries, sausage gravy, biscuits, hot syrup, hot cereals, and breakfast scramble. Thursday: Scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, hash browns, fried bologna, pancakes, hot syrup, hot cereals, and breakfast quiche. Friday: Scrambled eggs, omelet eggs, tater tots, sausage patties, oatbran pancakes, hot syrup, hot cereals, and waffle bar. Saturday: Scrambled eggs, sausage gravy, biscuits, hot syrup, and hot cereals, and waffle bar. Lunch: Monday: Broccoli cheese soup, hamburgers, chicken pot pie, potato chips, buttered peas, Italian blend, salad bar, sub zone, pizza station, and rotisserie station. Tuesday: Tomato soup, carved pit ham, taco Tuesday, scalloped potatoes, green beans, capri blend, salad bar, sub zone, pizza station, and rotisserie station. Wednesday: Vegetable soup, BBQ pork sandwiches, macaroni & cheese, potato chips, California blend, buttered corn, salad bar, sub zone, pizza station, and rotisserie station. Thursday: Cream of potato soup, fish sandwich, soup beans and cornbread, fried potatoes, mustard greens, sauerkraut, salad bar, sub zone, pizza station, and rotisserie station. Saturday: Black bean soup, grilled ham and cheese, potato chips, broccoli cuts, and salad bar. Sunday: Tomato rice soup, carved roast beef, chicken cor don bleu casserole, mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, zucchini, salad bar, and rotisserie station. Dinner: Monday: Broccoli cheese soup, carved roast beef, pioneer pasta, mashed potatoes, Germany blend, squash medley, salad bar, sub zone, baked pasta bar, and rotisserie station Tuesday: Tomato soup, Salisbury steak, whole grain chicken curry, mashed potatoes, broccoli cuts, sliced carrots, salad bar, sub zone, double cheeseburger bar, and rotisserie station. 4 P A G E 4 Alice Lloyd College Calendar August August (M-T) Registration for Vacant SGA Offices August (M-T) SGA Election (in DSC foyer, 11:30-1:00) August 23 (W) ALC Last Day to Register, Drop/Add Dorm Room Changes Beginning Monday morning, August 21st at 8:00 a.m., room changes are possible for new students. ( These changes are one time only and free). Also returning students will have the opportunity to change rooms for a fee. The fee is assessed because returning students signed up for a room last spring. All room changes and requests need to begin in the Housing Director s office, DSC 200.
5 P A G E 5 Crochet Group The Crochet Group will meet on our regular schedule 7:00-8:30 (or later) in JBAC 250. For those of you who are new to campus, this is a group that meets weekly to teach others to crochet or knit, to share patterns and tips, and just generally enjoy hanging out with others who enjoy working with yarn. No experience or supplies needed! We have supplies you can use to get started, so you don t even have to bring anything with you. We are extremely informal, and you are welcome to drop in whenever you can and stay for as long as you can.
6 P A G E 6 Education Department Announcements TEP (Teacher Education Program) Deadlines *Applications for January Interviews will be due on or before October 16, This includes the following: *Application *ALL recommendations ** Why I Want to be a Teacher **Autobiography ** Philosophy of Education them. *Background Check *Drug Test ** Please note. If you are currently enrolled in Education 200, please submit these as you complete Case Tests- In order for the Education Department to receive your scores in time for you to interview in January, you must take the Case Tests by no later than December 1, Student Teaching (Spring 2018) Deadlines The following will be due on or before October 16, 2017 *Application to Student Teach. This includes the following- *Application *Drug Test *Physical *Background Check *Signed Curriculum Guide Sheet * Training Modules *Working Portfolio *Field Experience/ Practicum Hours- *In order to Student Teach in Spring 2018, all field experience hours must be completed and submitted by no later than November 21st. *Praxis Tests- * All applicable parts of the PRAXIS must be taken by the October 9-21 testing window for tests that have an essay portion and the November 6-18 testing window for tests that are strictly multiple choice. If you have any questions or concerns, please see Sherry Watts in the Education department.
7 P A G E 7 Campus Gas System Public Awareness Notification Post Date: As a Master Meter Operator, Alice Lloyd College wants to ensure natural gas service to all consumers on campus. In doing so, we want to ensure the consumer that the pipeline system at the time of installation was in accordance with the natural gas supplier and is being maintained with the same integrity. Being a Master Meter Operator, Alice Lloyd College wants the consumer to be informed of potential hazards and preventive measures taken by the supplier to secure the integrity of the pipeline system. Listed below are potential hazards and methods of prevention: Potential Hazards Preventive Method Maintenance personnel work diligently to maintain the integrity of the pipeline system. The following procedures are conducted in a timely fashion to ensure safety and security to the consumer: 1. Weekly Sniff Test and Chart Reading at Master Meter. 2. Line Patrolling. 3. Up-Keep of Gas Risers and Regulators. Assisting Alice Lloyd College in responsibility to the consumer is Moore s Pipeline Service. Moore s Pipeline Service is owned and operated by Mr. Jack Moore. Services provided by Moore s Pipeline Service are listed as followed: 1. Annual Leakage Survey. 2. Pipeline Patrol. 3. Education and Re-Certification of Maintenance Personnel. All records pertaining to the gas system are on file at the Office of Physical Plant including the Public Service Commission Report. You the consumer can play a vital role in protecting our campus community. Detecting a leak and knowing what to do if a leak is suspect is at the utmost importance. When it comes to detecting a gas leak, it s best to trust your senses: Smell: To help you smell natural gas leak, a familiar odor like rotten eggs is added to gas. See: Near a gas leak, you might see blowing dirt, bubbling water or an unusual area containing dead vegetation. Hear: A leaking pipeline might make a hissing sound you can hear. If you suspect a natural gas leak, do the following: ights.
