1 RETAIL FOOD SUPPLY FOR EXPO 2010 INTRODUCTION With less than one year until the opening, you and your country s pavilion are now under preparation for the World Expo to be held in Shanghai, China from 1 May to 31 October There are an expected 200 participants with a forecasted attendance of 70 million people to the Expo Site. World Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be the biggest World Expo in the history of world expositions with a dedicated 5.28-square-kilometer area at the core of the city to exhibitions, events and forums on the Expo theme, "Better City, Better Life," OVERVIEW & SUPPLY Large scale events in Shanghai are a key part of this city ranging from launch parties, opening parties, events, concerts, sporting events, government dignitaries and of course, Shanghai World Expo However, not all public areas for food and beverage are able to meet the high volume demand whilst maintaining the high quality level of F&B that discerning Shanghai event-goers are accustomed to. DLC is able to meet those needs. DLC understands an important element of the guest experience even on large grand scales, is about showcasing about quality food and beverages while also maintaining high quality standards. Participants at the Expo will undoubtedly dedicate a significant portion of their pavilion to the guest experience showcasing all that is quality about their respective country. Naturally, public areas for food and beverage will comprise an important element of the pavilion experience and be the ultimate showcase for produce. Given the sheer number of anticipated attendance at the Expo, food and beverage supply must meet the demands of such an event whilst still maintaing quality standards. We understand that most pavilions will be building an area to meet the demands for food/beverage retailing. In addition, some pavilions are also including additional events spaces specially designed for hosting events, government dignitaries and the like. Quality food and beverage products available for retail food sale in public venues are so rarely found. 2 In order to meet the demands for F&B supply for retail sale, we suggest that there are some items for sale are individually portioned and ready for sale to the public rather than purchasing bulk items and then dividing into portions on site. In other words, selling ready-made individual portions of certain foods can increase your operation s efficiency and increase the capacity for sales. All food products for sale in China must bear the QS symbol certifying that the product is quality control approved for sale in China. DLC has the advantage and are capable of supplying QS certified food products for retail sale that not only are of a premium quality but are also capable of tailor-making recipes and food products (based on minimum orders). DLC is able to provide QS certified food products of a guaranteed quality standard for you to sell within your pavilion. We are willing to discuss customized packaging needs based on a minimum quantity as well as tailor made recipes upon request. For your catering and event needs, DLC are able to supply you with a range of premium canapes to set meals. We are able to tailor menus specifically for your event or otherwise follow specific requirements according to your needs that showcase your country s traditional aspects.
