High Street, Suite 102 Bryan, Ohio Maggie s Corner: It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold, when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade. -Charles Dickens After a cold, icy winter, it is nice to welcome spring and all its beauty. Green budding trees, fragrant flowers and the long awaited warming sun. Children s laughter echoing outside as they play in the grass while the world thaws. The dullness of winter melts away and the awakening of new beginnings, new adventures, new life shines through Hello Spring! On April 15 th we will be selling tickets to see Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Coldwater Michigan at Tibbits Opera House on July 10 th at 2pm. The total cost will be $44 for the ticket and transportation plus we will be eating lunch at the Montpelier Senior Center before we head north. Contact your local senior center to get yours, its sure to be a colorful & fun filled trip! Join us at the Stryker Methodist Church on March 28 th for Stryker s Evening of Fun. With bingo, good food and great friends, it s sure to be a terrific night. The fun times don t end there; on April 11 th the Bryan Lions & Lioness Clubs are hosting a Free Spaghetti Supper at the Bryan Senior Center for those seniors in Williams County. It is a yummy meal and a wonderful night; we hope to see you there. On April 23 rd we are recognizing our amazing volunteers with a Pizza Party at the senior centers so join us in saying thank you! Also in April, the Bryan Senior Center is having their Evening of Fun on April 30 th with more bingo, more door prizes and more great friends. Spring is here. Senior County Walk Every Thursday starting April 4 Join our new Senior Center Walking Program/Walk with the Department of Aging & friends around our beautiful county for 8 weeks this spring. Check with your local senior center for more information & how to sign up. TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE Good Friday Brunch We are hosting a Good Friday Brunch, April 19 th at a.m. at our Bryan, Montpelier & West Unity Senior Centers. If you need transportation, please call the centers for a ride. There will be no Home Delivery that day so a frozen meal will be delivered that week. Centers will close at noon for the holiday; we hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend! Volunteer Appreciation The Department of Aging would like to honor its wonderful volunteers with pizza and recognition on Tuesday, April 23 rd during regular serving times at each of our senior centers. Let your site manager know once you receive your invitation if you will be able to attend the recognition. Thank you to all our volunteers; we could not do it without you! The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. ~DeAnn Hollis for Closure of Senior Centers In this age of technology, is a good way to get the word out. The Williams county Department of Aging will start ing those who want to be informed of senior center closures. To receive s when the senior centers close, please - jhorne@wmsco.org Toledo Mud Hens Game We are heading back to Fifth Third Field on Thursday May 16 th at 10:35 am. to see the Toledo Mudhens vs. the Norfolk Tides. The cost is $23 for the game ticket and transportation or you can add a bag lunch of hot dog, chips and soda for only $28. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, March 5 th. We will confirm our count with Toledo on Friday, April 12 th, so be sure to get your tickets by Friday, April 12 th. Call your local Senior Center or the Main Office at for more details. Let s Play Ball! 90+ Luncheon May 17 th The Department of Aging is honored to host our annual luncheon on Friday, May 17 th at the Montpelier Moose Lodge for those who are 90 and over. It s always a lovely event and each person who joins us is amazing! Entertainment begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at 12:00 noon. Rides are provided for those who need them or you are welcome to come with a guest for a $5.00 donation; lunch is free for everyone 90 and over. Please call the Main Office at before May 10 th to make reservations. We hope to see you there!

Mary s Corner: By Mary Thaman Dear Readers: Although I am writing this article in the wintertime and yard is covered with snow, hopefully it will be warmer when you read this. There isn't a more healthy way to start the day than with hot oatmeal made in the microwave. To make it creamier get it ready the night before. In a Pyrex Grab It Bowl measure 1/3 cup quick oats and add 2/3 cup water. Microwave one minute and 10 seconds and season as desired. The meal is prepared by our Dept. of Aging kitchen and the Lioness Club provides desserts. Tickets will be available from your local senior center March 5 th to reserve your seat for a night of fun, entertainment & delicious food! No older person shall be denied a nutrition service because of failure to contribute all or part of the cost of such service. Older participants shall determine for themselves what they are able to contribute toward the cost of the service.

Spring Extravaganza Evening of Fun The Bryan Senior Center will host the Evening of Fun on Tuesday, April 30, Dinner is served 4:30-5:30 pm.
