4 OUR STORY Bewley s is the heart and the hearth of Dublin. There is a sense in which Dubliners behave like a large, sometimes unruly family; and walking into Bewley s never fails to give me the feeling that I am stepping into a home And it is a pleasure to be able to become part of that family merely by dropping in for a coffee and a shiny bun or two. Bewley s is cosy without being complacent, comfortable without being soporific. There is a special Bewley buzz that is both stimulating and reassuring. In the faces, one always finds a pleasant mixture of strangeness and familiarity. The atmosphere is full of a lovely rattling music made up of cups and chatter, gossip and laughter, watchful eyes and gadabout tongues.
