County Line Lettuce Update: County Line is completely out of Baby Mixed Lettuce, Little Gem, Spring Mix & straight packed lettuces for a least a week or two until a very small planting is ready to harvest in Petaluma. We are filling in as best we can with Coke Farms & Faurot Ranch Baby Mixed Lettuce. Cilantro: High temperatures have caused quality issues; supplies are still limited & market is still soaring! Broccolini is being prorated about 50% of usage; we ll fill in with Organic Sweet Baby Broccoli as available. Belgian Endive: Availability remains hit/miss for local White Endive. Old root yield is very low; grower holding back harvest this week. Expect this issue to run until sometime in October when new roots will be ready for harvest. Lemon update: Chilean, MX & a limited amount of CA grown Lemons all in stock. Overall market remains hot; no relief expected for weeks, including Organic. 3 Farm Spotlight: Riverdog Farms Riverdog Farm began as a 2-acre organic vegetable farm in Napa County. Started by partners Trini Campbell and Tim Mueller, Riverdog Farm in Guinda, California, is certified by California Certified Organic Farmers, meaning all their produce is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Their philosophy is that by taking care of their employees, land, and animals, they are helping to create a food system that is better for everyone and one that tastes better too! As one of the first organic farms to sell at the Berkeley Farmers markets, they have been helping to bring organic, seasonal, local food to the fore of the sustainable food movement for over 25 years. The farm owners are Andrew Brait, Judith Redmond, Paul Muller, Dru Rivers, Jenna Muller, and Amon Muller. With help from about 60 employees, Cheese & Specialty the Organic farm produces Padron an amazing Peppers diversity of vegetables, herbs, #5470 nuts, $6.00 flowers, per and 1lb fruits year-round.
