2 Quality and Product News: Lemons: All Lemons are extremely limited right now and are coming in low quality. CA crops have finished for the season. A full load of new crop Chilean Lemons are due in mid-week; until then there may be shortages. Market is hot.. Berries: Expecting another shipment of Boysenberries in time for Tuesday orders; may be last for the season. Also expecting some Marionberries & Loganberries this week from OR, packed in 6x12oz clamshell cases. Belgian Endive: Local White & especially Red Endive supply will remain very limited through July. The roots have been weak this year, resulting in lower yields. California Endive Farms anticipate being up to full production by August. In the meantime, we have some imported White Endive to help cover your needs. Figs: Both conventional & Organic are now gapping for 3 weeks before their primary crop starts up (formed on this season s wood), which normally runs through September, weather depending. Stonefruit update: Frog Hollow s Organic Yellow Peach varieties this week include Suncrest & Elegant Lady, both delicious, freestone mid-season varieties. Yellow Nectarines now in stock. 3 Farm Spotlight: Coke Farm One of Greenleaf s longest standing partners is the family-run Coke Farms out of San Juan Bautista, California. Coke Farms was founded in 1981 by Dale Coke who grew organic strawberries on his 1/4 acre farm. Since then, Coke Farm has grown and evolved from an organic farming operation into a thriving organic produce aggregation company. Their produce hub represents a diverse group of local organic fruit and vegetable growers located in and around the central coast. They work with growers to develop growth plans, as well as receiving, cooling, selling and shipping a wide variety of organic produce. Their modern shipping and cooling facility operates year-round in San Juan Bautista, California, and they pride themselves on offering consistently high quality organic and specialty produce to local, regional, national and international markets. We have been working with Greenleaf for over 30 years.
