8 WINE LIST RECOMMENDED WINES WHITE WINES 1 CHILEAN PEREGRINO SAUVIGION BLANC This is a dry and full bodied white wine. The colour is a vibrant yellow with notes of peaches and citrus fruits. The taste is light and fresh with a balanced finish. 2 CHILEAN PEREGRINO CHARDONNAY This is a medium white wine with a colour that is brilliant yellow. It has intense aromas of green apples and tropical fruits with a backdrop of vanilla. The taste is fresh with a soft medium and balanced body. 3 SOUTH AFRICAN FALSE BAY CHENIN BLANC A rich Chenin Blanc, with gentle aromas of apple and fruit. Due to natural fermentation, the wine has great complexity and length. ROSE WINE 4 ITALIAN PINOT GRIGIO ROSE 'ANCORA' Fresh and dry. Perfect for light drinking, casual dining or as an aperitif. A classic Italian, wine, with a twist of pink. RED WINE 6 CHILEAN PEREGRINO MERLOT This is a medium bodied red wine with a ruby red and violet hue. The bouquet is of cherry, ripe pepper and soft cacao. Its taste is elegant, with a well-rounded palate of good body and persistence. 7 CHILEAN PEREGRINO CABERNET SAUVIGNON This is a medium bodied red wine which has a brilliant red colour. Its bouquet is of blackberries, cassis, chocolate notes, dry plum and a hint of vanilla. The taste is very well balanced with a persistent finish. 8 SOUTH AFRICAN FALSE BAY PINOTAGE Deep garnet colour with hints of dark fruits leading to a heady mix of fruit, rich chocolate and plums supported by soft tannins, a truly delightful wine. NEW AND OLD WORLD WINES WHITE WINES 11 AUSTRALIAN MADFISH SEMILLON SAUVIGNON A vibrant lemon yellow in colour. Intense and powerful fruit aromas of guava, black currant and gooseberry mingle with hints of custard apple, cantaloupe, sweet herbs and citrus zest. It can be enjoyed with crumbled fish, fried calamari, chicken casseroles and roast pork with applesauce. 15 PORTUGUESE QUINTA DE GOMARIZ VINHO VERDE Made from Loureiro grape variety, this wine presents a very fresh floral nose with honeyed citrus aromas. Well balanced a cidiy and minerals contribute to a clean, persistent finish. 16 SPAIN PROTOS RUEDA, VERDEJO BODEGAS The Spanish capital, Madrid. It is known for its dry, aromatic white wines made predominantly from Verdejo, with small quantities of Viura and Sauvignon Blanc. These fresh, aromatic whites are an ideal complement to the heavy Tempranillo-based reds of neighboring Toro. RED WINE 21 AUSTRALIAN MADFISH SHIRAZ A rich, dark, cherry red wine with great colour density. The wine displays aromas of black pepper spice, ripe plum compote, five spice powder and toasty oak. This full-bodied wine is driven by concentrated fruit flavours of chocolate and black morello cherries which are complexed by subtle savoury textures and fine, soft tannins. 22 ITALIAN VALPOLICELLA CLASSICO MASI On the nose, there are aromas of violets, roses and mint combined with cherries and spices such as cinnamon and cloves. Well-structured, fresh and full-bodied. NEW AND OLD WORLD WINES (CONT) RED WINES 23 NEW ZEALAND PINOT NOIR, MARLBOROUGH, NEPTUNE Smooth and perfectly balanced wine with notes of plum and black cherry. 24 SOUTH AFRICAN KEN FORRESTER, MERLOT RESERVE Hints of cherries and mint with meat-spice and smoky undertones. Softly rounded and accessible wine with balanced tannins for early drinking. 25 PORTUGUESE MONTE DAS SERVAS SPECIAL RESERVE Ruby color clean aroma of red fruits, balanced and well structured, with round tannins and persistent finish. A good choice to accompany red meat dishes and cheeses. 26 SPAIN COTO MAYOR, RIOJA, CRIANZA This medium to full bodied red wine has been aged for at least one year in an oak cask, and a further year in the bottle. FRANCE WHITE WINE 31 MUSCADET SUR LIE, LA CHAUVINIERE, LOIRE VALLEY Crisp and fresh on the palate, with superb acidity of green apple flavours. 32 MACON-LUGNY, LES GENIEVRES, LOUIS LATOUR This dry and full bodied wine, which is produced from 100% Chardonnay, unveils a beautiful light golden colour with green reflections. It is round on the palate and presents liquorice notes and muscat aromas. 33 SANCERRE, DOMAINE DUCROUX Typical Sancerre, with plenty of Sauvignon fruit, fresh and aromatic with good acidity. 34 CHATEAU BEL AIR, GRAVES BLANC, BORDEAUX A pleasant golden color, a nose with hints of oranges. The excellent concentration on the palate reveals the full expression of the grapes. 35 PETIT CHABLIS, DOMAINE DU COLOMBIER A fine beautifully made classic Petit Chablis, bright with a clean steely freshness with a slight hint of butter. 36 MERSAULT BURGUNDY CHARDONNAY PIERRE ANDRE This wine is deliciously complex, showing a fine bouquet of hazelnut, toast and honey developing into hues of lime and quince. It has a plump, full-bodied palate with remarkable persistence. Goes well with foie gras, roasted pig in spices, shellfish and poultry in sauce as well as strong cheeses. ROSE WINE 37 SANCERRE ROSE DOMAINE DU COLOMBIERE, ROGER NEVEU Fairly light and distinctively fruity, with a crisp finish. Fresh Pinot Noir taste. RED WINE 41 FLEURIE, DOMAINE DE MATRAY A most attractive single vineyard product from our favorite vigneronne, excellent to enjoy when relatively young, it develops a soft and ripely delicate depth of flavor as it becomes older. 42 HAUTES COTES DE NUITS, BEAUVERSANT PIERRE ANDRE Intense ruby red in colour with aromas of ripe cherries, earthiness, nutmeg and liquorice all combining to give complexity. 43 ST EMILLION, GRAN CRU CHATEAU HAUT BADON A fine, deep, ruby red colour, with a typical Saint-Emilion nose, where the Merlot aromas are dominated by touches of wallflower, dried grass and broom. Altogether a fine example of a full bodied. 44 MARGAUX, DOMAINE DE MAUCAILLOU Creamy nose. Mint with herbal and black fruit notes. More depth than many of the other Margaux.
