3 Conference & Events at Southend Theatres Introduction... Looking for a unique space to hold your event? Look no further than the Cliffs Pavilion or the Palace Theatre, both in Southend on Sea. The Cliffs Pavilion and Palace Theatre are two of the most iconic buildings in Southend. Work began on the original Cliffs Pavilion during the 1930s. It was intended to be a 500 seat theatre incorporating the art deco style of the time. With the outbreak of World War II, however, the building work halted. Work began again after the war and the building opened in The Ideal Venue The Cliffs Pavilion has dramatic, fantastic views across the Thames Estuary..a great place to entertain. The Palace Theatre has been bringing the magic of the stage to Southend since 1912 when it opened as the Palace of Varieties. This theatre is a little bit of West End glamour in the heart of Essex. We can hold a meeting from everything from 20 guests to 1,600 guests. Whether it is a team building exercise down on the beach with refreshments followed by lunch in one of our function rooms, a corporate BBQ to entertain your clients or a drinks reception before a show, we have something for everyone. Innovative Menus Southend Theatre s menus are fresh innovative and constantly changing to reflect seasonality. All our ingredients are locally sourced wherever possible. On the following pages you will find our corporate meeting packages and pre designed dinner menus for events. Should you have something more specific in mind, our General Manager and Head Chef will be happy to tailor-make a menu for you. We are happy to cater for any special dietary requirement Our dishes may contain nuts or nut products. *Please note we can only offer a cold buffet as a food offering for events at the Palace Theatre. Please also note there is only the Dixon Studio, main auditorium and foyer available to hire at the Palace, subject to availability.
