3 Why the Yarra Valley? Racing in the Yarra Valley - It s a wonderful thing. It s a chance to road-test your new frock, polish those cufflinks and soak up the sun, cheering on a winner as the field thunders down the home straight. Squeeze a cheeky breakfast mimosa in there somewhere and you ve got the recipe for a perfect weekend. But Yarra Valley Racing isn t just another day at Flemington or Caulfield. This is country racing with a pinch of glam, which means rural character, proper service, farm-fresh produce, and local wines that ll have you seriously considering a tree change. We don t do jam-packed crowds, and we don t do car park gridlock. For us, racing s better when it s stress-free, fun and family-friendly. Queueing an hour for taxis isn t really our idea of a good time. After dining and hospitality packages? We ve got everything from a market umbrella to custom-built corporate marquees, complete with TVs, roving canapés and an open bar. 11 Mini Marquees OUTDOOR There s nothing wrong with an al fresco day at the races, but sometimes a car boot and a beach umbrella just isn t going to cut it. Good things come in small packages. Check out our Mini Marquees: private enclosures for up to 10 mates, right in the middle of the action. Got a bigger group? No problem. We can join marquees side-by-side to fit the whole crew. 14 Cocktail Marquee CORPORATE Time to mix things up. Our Cocktail Marquee is very similar to a Corporate Marquee we just gave it a shake and a swizzle and garnished with a few mint leaves. You ll get your own private enclosure and the standard corporate package (customizable, of course) but we ll also throw in bar tables, ottomans and roving food: think canapés, salads and a few ohjust-one-more desserts. It s corporate, but with the top button undone. 18 Find your way here If you need directions, you ll find us in Yarra Glen, right in the heart of the Yarra Valley (just follow the grapes). We re about an hour out of Melbourne. Close enough for an easy day trip, but far enough to get away from the big smoke. That scent on the wind? Yep, that s real country air ( and maybe a whiff of horse). By Car From the City via the M3 Follow the M3 Eastern Fwy to Maroondah Hwy in Chirnside Park Follow Victoria Rd > Macintyre Ln > Melba Hwy to Yarra Glen. From the North & West via the M80 Follow the M80 Ring Road to Greensborough Bypass Follow State Route 46 > State Route 9 > Eltham Rd to Yarra Glen. From the South & South East via the M3 Follow the M3 Eastlink to Ringwood Bypass in Ringwood Follow Maroondah Hwy > Victoria Rd > Macintyre Ln and Melba Hwy to Yarra Glen. While we have no set dress code, we ask all our guests to be neatly dressed, with footwear and a shirt must be worn at all times. Guests attending the Corportate Enclosure should be dressed Smart Casual. Guests dining in the Yarraview Room are required to wear a shirt with closed footwear. We do encourage you to go the full race day gear however. Are fancy dress costumes permitted? Of course! Just keep it clean and not rude. What time do gates open? Gates open at 11:00am unless otherwise specified. What time is the first race? The time of the first race will vary between race days. The race times are confirmed by Racing Victoria and Harness Racing Victoria 2 days prior to race day. Please check race details on yarravalleyracing.com.au Generally, you can expect the first race to be between 12:00pm and 1:00 pm, depending on the number of races. What time should I plan to arrive? The public car parks open from 10:45am on raceday. What time does the day finish? The last race will usually run between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, depending on the number of races. All bars and beverage packages will close at the jump of the last local race. Is car parking available on course? Free car parking is available at Yarra Valley Racing on event days through Gate B on Armstrong Grove. Members can park in the Members Drive through Gate C. Is there bus parking available? Yes, free bus parking is available via Gate B on Armstrong Grove. Are disabled parking facilities available? Parking facilities for those with disabled car passes are available at or near the entrance. Can I bring food and/or drinks in to the racecourse? As Yarra Valley Racing is a fully licensed venue, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the venue. There are plenty of public bars provided to purchase alcoholic beverages on the day. For health and safety reasons, please be aware that you are not permitted to bring open beverages, BBQ s, picnic tables and beach/market umbrellas. What food can I bring in? As a general rule, food is able to be brought on course. You cannot however bring metal cutlery, glassware or BBQs into the racecourse. Is there anywhere for the general public to purchase food on course? Yes, on non-feature race days, the Yarraview Dining room will be open for the public to purchase bistro meals, subject to availability. On all featured race days, the Undercroft Snack Bar and Bistro along with outside food vendors will be open from 11:00am. Do you have an ATM for cash out? Yes, there are 2 ATMs located on the ground level of the Main Grandstand. You can also withdraw cash from any permanent bar around the racecourse. Can I bring my own seating or marquees? Fold up chairs are able to be brought on the course, but we ask you keep them clear of all walkways. Private marquees, shade structures or umbrellas may not be used at the racecourse. Yarra Valley Racing reserves the right to have any unsafe structures removed. Do I need to pre-book my entry/admisison tickets? General Admisison tickets can be purchased ahead of time, simply by visiting yarravalleyracing.com.au. Full price admission tickets can also be purchased at the gate on race day. I have lost my tickets. What should I do? If lost, general admission tickets cannot be replaced. Hospitality tickets are individually numbered, and will be reissued if lost or stolen. Please contact the club directly on (03) or info@ yarravalleyracing.com.au Can I reserve outdoor tables and chairs? The outdoor tables and chairs are freely available to all general admission guests on a first-come, first-served basis. They are not able to be reserved. Can I hold my bucks or hens part at Yarra Valley? Yes, you are more than welcome to have your bucks or hens party at one of our race days. Our normal Conditions of Entry apply. Are dogs allowed into the racecourse? No dogs, except guide dogs, or other pets of any kind are allowed in the racecourse. Entry into the racecourse will be from 11:00am, with access into the Corporate and Valley Marquee packages from 12pm. There are limited outdoor tables, chairs and umbrellas in general admission areas, on a firstcome, first-serve basis. 19

20 THE FINE PRINT Please read carefully the following terms and conditions. General Conditions Yarra Valley Racing reserves the right to inspect / search bags brought into or out of Yarra Valley Racing. Persons gaining unauthorised access to Yarra Valley Racing and / or the race track may be liable for prosecution. Patrons who cause a disturbance, or refuse to comply with requests made by Yarra Valley Racing staff will be evicted from the Racecourse. Pass-outs will not be issued. Alcoholic beverages cannot be taken into or out of the Racecourse by patrons. Smoking on the premises is only permitted in designated smoking areas and not within 15m of seating, food vendors or enclosed areas. Customers wishing to bring al items into Yarra Valley Racing do so at their own risk. Yarra Valley Racing will not be held responsible for any damages to, loss or theft of a patron s al property. Unauthorised soliciting and customer surveying is not permitted. Making your Booking All bookings require a 20% deposit at the time of booking, with final payments due no later than 30 days from the event date. All bookings received within 30 days of the event are required to be paid in full at the time of booking. Cancellation Policy If for any reason, a booking is cancelled the following conditions apply: More than 21 days prior to the event 20% cancellation fee applies. Within 21 days of the event non refundable. Should the race meeting be cancelled, the following conditions will apply: Cancellation of the meeting prior to the start of racing, the club will recover its costs and refund the balance to the customer. No refund is payable once racing has commenced. Should the club decide to continue with running a Phantom Race Meeting (definition below), refunds on ticket entry will only be available providing you take your ticket stub to the ticket box located at any entry point within 60 minutes of the race meeting being cancelled (no refund on packages will be available when a phantom meeting is conducted). Phantom Race Meeting Definition: A phantom meeting is when there are no races, or no further races being held on site, however the course and its facilities remain open and operating to all patrons for the duration of the day. All pre-purchased & 5 hour beverage packages will commence from 12pm midday and continue until the jump of the last local race. In line with Responsible Service of Alcohol best practice, Yarra Valley Racing reserves the right to refuse service to any who is considered intoxicated. Guests are reminded that alcoholic beverages are not to be served to guests under the age of 18 years, or to guests in a state of intoxication. If a is in breach of the liquor licensing laws they may be removed from the Racecourse. Behaviour Guests are required to have regard for the amenity of the facilities and their enjoyment by all guests. Any breach of acceptable behavioural standards will result in removal of guests from the marquee area. Proof of Age Patrons are advised that any between the age of years is required to wear a Proof of Age wristband should they wish to purchase and/or consume alcohol on course. Security will be conducting random checks throughout the day to ensure that patrons are correctly wrist banded. Proof of Age wristbands can be obtained from the information marquee located at the rear of the Main Grandstand.
