2 YWCA Australia is a non-religious organisation that achieves positive change by providing advocacy, programs and services for women, families and young people in Australia. Operating within a feminist and social justice framework, YWCA Australia s vision is that all women, young women and girls are safe and respected, with equal access to power, opportunity and resources. YWCA Australia s purpose is to be a strong, unified, national feminist organisation of women, young women and girls, working to achieve gender equality. YWCA Australia has expertise in providing community services to young people, women and families including domestic and family violence programs, youth diversion, youth transitional housing, youth crisis accommodation, women s prison programs, medical accommodation, young parent support programs and runs social enterprises. YWCA Australia is a strong advocate for women s rights, gender equality and raising awareness around domestic violence and does this through not just the programs, but also through involvement in steering committees, working groups and collaborative partnerships. The YWCA is a local, national and international organisation that is connected to World YWCA.
