7 Year 7 Eastbourne Art Trip Y7visitedEastbourneCollegeandtheTownerGalleryonThursday6th November. Weleschoolat11.00amandonarrivalaladygreetedusandtookusto thedininghall.wehadagreat,tastylunchandaerwardswewalked alongthepavementtothetownerartgallery. Weweretakentoseetwoexhibionsonthefirstandsecondfloor.We wentupinaverylargelitothefirstfloor.thereasontheliwassotall andwidewasbecauseitisusedtotakeallthelargepiecesofartuptothevariousfloors. ThefirstroomwewalkedintohadthreepicturesbyMahewMillerondisplay,allshowingthesamething buteachonepaintedinadierentseasonandtheyeachlookedquitedierent.thenextroomwewentto containedaprojectorshowingamericaandallofthedeforestaontheremakingmorespaceforother thingssuchasfarmhousesandroadstobebuilt.thiswasbyurielorlow. Weenteredanotherroomwithwhichhadpicturesofthesameseabutatdierentmesofthedayand year.thearstwassimonroberts. Aerlookingatsomemoreartwemovedtothesecondfloorexhibion,TwixtTwoWorlds.Wesawearly cinecamerasandlotsofpictures.ifyoumovedthroughthemquicklytheyappearedtomove. Wealsowentintothestoreroomwhere4500painngsarestowed. TomMeek Year7wentonanarttriptoEastbourneCollegetostudy anarstcalledhenryspencermoore. Wewenttotheartdepartmenttodoaclaydesignofhis workrelangtosheep.henrymoorealsodidalotof sculpturesofwomenwiththeiryounghoweverwedida sculptureofsheepinstead.wehadtwochoices,thefirst onewasasmallcartoonlikesheep,whichtheteacher calledshaunandthesecondonewasamorerealisc sheep.someparts werehard,forexam ple,usingnewspaper tosupportthelegsofthesheepastheyeasilycollapsed.weweregiven toolstohelpussecurethebodytotheheadandwealsousedaspecial gluewhichwasmadewithwaterandclaymixedtogether.thiswasthen appliedtothebodyandtheheadtosecureit.
