2 APPIAN BAR WHISKEY CORNER Jameson The best selling Irish Whiskey in the World selling more than 20 million bottles annually. Light sherry notes with a very pleasant dry finish. The old Jameson distillery is based in Midleton Co. Cork. Now a visitors centre, it dates back to the early 17th. century. Production in the new Midleton Distillery began in Jameson Gold Matured in new oak barrels which gives a unique honey toasted sweetness. Jameson 12 year old Often considered one of the best blends in the world and arguably the best value on our list. Warm, spicy nutty flavour with sherry richness and long finish. Jameson 18 year old Limited edition. each bottle individually numbered. Won gold at the 2008 International Spirits Challenge Awards. Long lingering finish with wood, spicy, toffee and vanilla notes. Jameson Crested Ten A traditional old Irish brand, well worth re-discovering. Exported in very small quantities. A delicate balance of fruity sweetness and a hint of dryness. Paddy Named after the famous whiskey sales rep, Paddy Flaherty. Ideal with a mixer or a little water. Mellow maltiness and mild woody notes. Powers Excellent with a few drops of water or for Irish coffee and Hot Irish. Warm cereal notes with plenty of spice. Powers 12yr. old special reserve Initially produced in limited quantities for the Millennium. Lots of body and flavour. Not available in the U.S. and actually difficult to find outside of Ireland. Some sherry wood and gentle sweetness with a lingering finish. Red breast 12 year old Pure pot still whiskey is unique to Ireland. Award winning whiskey and full of character. Touch of oiliness and fruitcake on the taste. Midleton Very rare Every year since 1984 a new vintage has been produced. Bottled in limited quantities, every vintage would be slightly different from the previous year. Bushmills Dating back to 1608, the Bushmills distillery in Co.Antrim is legendary, in fact the oldest licenced distillery in the world. The original Bushmills ~ is a delicate blend with a fragrant maltiness. 2

3 Black Bush Aged for several years in sherry casks. ~ full bodied aroma and a slightly sweet taste. Bushmills 10 year old Matured for a minimum of 10 years and triple distilled ~ smooth, malty flavour. Bushmills 16 year old Matured in three types of wooden casks making it completely unique.~ a supple honey/almond fragrance Our Famous Irish Coffee 5.50 Made with Powers gold label Irish whiskey, brown sugar and freshly whipped cream, available all day. The original Irish coffee was created by Joseph Sheridan, in Shannon International airport in the 1940 s. Sheridan added Irish whiskey to coffee to warm some passengers who had a flight delay. Later, a travel writer named Stanton Delaplane brought Irish coffee to the states after tasting it at Shannon airport. It was in the U.S. in the 1950s where the method of floating cream on top was developed. APPIAN BAR WINE SELECTION White Wine 1/4 Bottle Bottle Chile, Elvaro Sauvignon Blanc Wine of green-yellow colour with fresh aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. It has a good body and persistence Chile, Elvaro Chardonnay Wine of a yellow colour with aromas of mature pineapple and banana. It has a good body and acidity. Australia, Thornbill Pinot Grigio Wine of green-yellow colour with fresh aromas of citrus and tropical fruits. It has a good body and persistence 3

4 White Wine 1/4 Bottle Bottle France, Jaffelin Chablis n/a Complex fruit on the nose with a hint of oak, round & supple with a distinct character & elegant finish. Rose Wine France, Cote Mas Rosé Aurore A bright pink cherry colour. The nose is complex with cherries, toffee and floral aromas evolving toward soft candied fruit notes Red Wine Chile, Elvaro Cabernet Sauvignon Wine of beautiful ruby colour and purple shades. It has a medium body with aromas of ripe and fresh red fruits. Chile, Elvaro Merlot Wine of Ruby colour with aromas of red fruits and a slight touch of mint. It is soft and elegant, with sweet and silky tannins, good persistence. Spain, La.Sala Tempranillo This is a racy and round wine in the pure tradition, with aromas of black fruits, spices and liquorice. France, Jaffelin Fleurie n/a Beautifully smooth, bundles of fruit aromas, a silky wine. A classic gamey grape from one of the top villages of Beaujolais. Sparkling & Champagne Prosecco A bright straw yellow colour. The bouquet is delicate and fine with a fruity taste. Excellent as an aperitif and with light meals.
