1 Highlights: Highlights concerning General information 24/Jan/2018 French consumer group UFC-Que Choisor Legal complaint has filed a legal complaint against nine filed over undeclared nanoparticles manufacturers including Mars, Casino, McCormick and Jacobs Douwe Egberts following testing which showed that there were a "significant proportion" of undeclared nanoparticles in their products. They have filed a complaint against the manufacturers for failure to comply with the legal labelling requirement that nanoparticles be declared. Highlights concerning Seafood 24/Jan/2018 The China Food and Drug Administration High levels of cadmium in seafood has raised concerns that excessive cadmium levels are a "major problem" in seafood major problem following the removal of seafood from shelves at a major supermarket after the products failed tests carried out by food safety inspectors.

Highlights concerning Fruiting vegetables 25/Jan/2018 The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Indian chillies added Export Development Authority have added fresh to'high-risk' list for green and red chillies due to be exported to the carbofuran residues EU on the high-risk list for carbofuran residues. This follows EU regulations which came into effect on the 1st of January 2018 which stipulates that peppers (Capsicum spp), other than sweet ones, in the frozen, fresh or chilled forms exported by India will be tested for pesticide residues at a frequency of 10 per cent.
