1 Week Highlights: Highlights concerning Canned foods Date Issue Summary 03/Aug/2018 An increasing issue has been picked up by Pieces of plastic in HorizonScan regarding canned chopped tomatoes from containing pieces of plas- from chopped tomatoes tic. So far 9 recalls (and a RASFF alert) have been received from 9 individual countries including Ireland, Germany, Austria, Croatia, Denmark, The Netherlands, Romania, Finland and Switzerland. All 9 recalls so far have been initiated by Lidl following recalls from their Italian supplier of the product (Le Specialità Italiane srl).
