7 Counselor s Corner Members who need housing information or are looking for more resources for in home service please contact Center Counselor. PCA is offering new resources on housing. The Counselor can be reached Monday-Friday 8:00 to 4:00 pm Please be advised when opening shared boxes but are unable to take everything please notify the counselor so names can be written on each individual box. Remember that yearly PA Screens verify your membership at the Senior Center, Always check your messages on the touchscreen to see if your PA Screen assessment is due Counselors We have two counselors Kayla and Kyra. Kayla is available Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Kyra is available Tuesday and Thursday. Both counselors are able to assist you with any of your needs. Please feel free to contact them at any time. Please reach out to the receptionist to schedule a time to meet with them. Please remember to use your produce vouchers at your local Farmer s Market. Refer to the flyers given out during the voucher distribution. Message from the Director Thank you to everyone who is going through the transition with us. We greatly appreciate you sticking with us. As things progress, we will inform you. Below is a reminder about CCT and how to address issues. Thank you, Luci 7

8 Complaints Please complete Complaint Forms with Darlene if you have issues with pick up times, drivers, etc. We fax them and take them to CCT Quarterly Meetings. Individual Random Ride Policy! Individual Random Rides are medical & shopping outside of center rides. All group trips will have a pickup time of 7:15 am, unless otherwise stated. If you need to cancel a ride please call CCT or cancel when the automated system calls. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL RIDES AT THE DOOR. Cancelling at the door will result in your account having a no-show. Excessive no shows will lead to your account being suspended. After you have come off suspension and still have multiple no-shows your account will then be terminated, and you will not be able to use the CCT paratransit service at all. To avoid being suspended/ and or terminated, please be mindful to cancel all rides at-least 2 hours in advanced; if possible the day before. Fare Update New Fares Effective July 1st, 2017 SRP (One Way Trip) Cash - $4.25 Cash - Escorts - $4.25 Cash - General Public - $28.33 Change in fare ONLY applies when you schedule your own rides. NLC Trip Policy Reminder! For all CCT trips, please sign up and pay no later than two Fridays before the week of the trip. For all long distance trips, please adhere to payment deadlines. All payments must be made by closing date for the trips. There will be no refunds or transfers. All group trips have a required minimum of 3 passengers If the minimum is not met the trip will have to be cancelled. Please no $100 bills when paying for the trip or a class. ***All Local Trips have a $2.00 Fee, with exception of those noted. All trips leave from the Northern Living unless indicated Center. 8

9 In-Home Support Program Find the support you need to: Age securely in your own home Stay strong and healthy The IHSP provides short term assistance for eligible adults 60+ who have difficulty and/or need assistance leaving their home and reside in North Philadelphia. Services include: Information, resource and benefits counseling. Minor home repairs and adaptive equipment. Home delivered meals. Transportation to medical appointments. Senior Companions. 9

Suggested Donations for Center Services Actual Cost Service Suggested Donation $3.32 per meal (ages 55-59) Lunch $1.00 (60+ individuals) $30 per hour Counseling $1.00 $26.70 one way Shared Ride (Age 65+ Individual) $1.00 $24.70 one way Shared ride (Age 65+ Group) $1.00 $35-$75 per hour Classes with outside instructors $ $3.00 Any member under the age of 60 is encouraged to pay the full price of $3.32 for meals. Any member age 60+ is encouraged to donate the suggested $1.00. Any member receiving CCT rides should donate the suggested $1.00. Anyone participating in activities or using services is encouraged to donate the Suggested $2-$3. Please place your donations in the gray boxes (labeled donations) located at the receptionist desk and the Café counter. We greatly appreciate your generous donations to keep the center functioning. 11
