This funding request wuld cver the fllwing specific imprvements: Reuphlstering f 240 theatre seat cushins $34,800 Fabricatin f 50 triangular fyer, inglenk and restrm bench cushins $9,020 Reprductin f 30 new dining rm chairs $4,050 Cnservatin f Histric Theatre Curtain $4,000 Fabricatin f 240 disc supprts fr theatre seat cushins $1,800 Reprductin f 40 new dining rm chair cushins $800 Ttal $54,470 The ttal budget fr the full Hillside Theater Restratin Prject is $430,000. A full prject budget is attached with this prpsal. The interir restratin f Hillside Theater is an imprtant first step in the verall restratin f Hillside Theater. This essential enhancement is ne that wuld usually be sequenced tward the end f an verall building preservatin prject. In the case f this prject, hwever, starting the verall restratin plan with a fcus n interir imprvements will immediately enliven the gathering experience f theatre-gers, lecture and crprate seminar participants, and special dining rm guests. This fcus n interir enhancements prir t the Fundatin s implementatin f the verall preservatin plan fr the facility will transfrm a critical element f this underutilized asset t its riginal glry as an architecturally stunning site fr rewarding cultural, schlarly and cmmunity events The preservatin plan fr Hillside Theater was created by the Fundatin s preservatin and curatrial team cmpsed f Jim Ericksn (Taliesin Estate Manager), Marg Stipe (Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin Curatr and Registrar f Cllectins) and Tm Waddell (Artifact Cllectin Manager, Taliesin). The plan that they created fr the Hillside Theater Restratin was submitted t and enthusiastically apprved by Taliesin s Preservatin Oversight Cmmittee. This cmmittee f preservatin experts ensures that all restratin wrk is dne with expert care and exacting standards. Estimates fr all prject csts have been generated by respected cnservatrs wh have a cmbined track recrd f meticulus histric preservatin prjects with The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin at Taliesin in Spring Green, WI, Taliesin West in Scttsdale, AZ and ther natinal histric landmarks thrughut the United States. The gifted craftspeple assembled t cmplete the necessary wrk n this prject are: Uphlstery Wrks (Lannn, Wiscnsin) Je and Liz Ilnicki, Uphlstery Wrks past cntributins t restratin prjects at Taliesin have included cmplete reuphlstering f all histric built-in furniture at the main huse at Taliesin.

Duncansn Wd Wrks (Mineral Pint, WI) Jel Duncansn, Duncansn Wd Wrks is a specialized wdwrking firm which recently perfrmed restratin wrk n windw sashes fr Frank Llyd Wright s Unity Chapel. In additin t the specialized wrk that these vendrs will cntribute t the prject, the preservatin and restratin team at Taliesin will perfrm additinal carpentry, paint, and repair wrk assciated with the prject. The cst f labr assciated with thse effrts is nt included in this prject request and allws fr an even greater amunt f cnservatin wrk t be cmpleted n the interir space f Hillside Theater as utside cnservatrs and internal staff cmbine frces fr an even deeper impact n the finished results f this prject. The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin is greatly appreciative f the spirit f cllabratin that has cntinued t expand between the Fundatin and Whle Fds. The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin Leadership Circle represents the premiere philanthrpic supprters f the Fundatin s prgrams and activities. Abut Taliesin and Hillside Theater Taliesin was the hme f architect Frank Llyd Wright lcated near Spring Green, Wiscnsin in the suthwestern part f the state. The Taliesin Estate includes 600 acres and five Frank Llyd Wright-designed buildings. The Hillside Theater is a remarkable setting n the grunds f the Taliesin Estate. This histric theater was the gathering place fr Frank Llyd Wright and his apprentices as they deepened their apprach t understanding architecture and design by immersin in cultural and artistic life frm all the perfrming disciplines. The Hillside Theater has cntinued t be a cnvening place fr artists, innvative thinkers, cmmunity arts presenters and public frums. Planned restratin effrts t Hillside Theater will expand the capacity fr mre exciting cultural and educatinal events t cntinue in a rbust and well supprted manner. Wright first designed the hme fr himself in Frm that time until his death in 1959, Wright cntinuusly changed the hme and the surrunding landscape, which included buildings that he had designed fr his family. The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin wns Taliesin and wrks cllabratively with Taliesin Preservatin, Inc. (TPI), an independent Wiscnsin nn-prfit 501 (c)(3) rganizatin that wns

4 the Frank Llyd Wright Visitr Center in Spring Green. Tgether, bth rganizatins wrk t preserve the Taliesin Estate in Spring Green, Wiscnsin as an eminent example f the visin f Frank Llyd Wright and t educate the public abut the histry and imprtance f Taliesin and Wright. The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin assists TPI in research regarding the buildings n the Taliesin Estate, its n-site cllectins, and with decisins regarding landscape maintenance. TPI and the fundatin share a maintenance agreement f the estate fr nn-preservatin related activities. Additinally, sme preservatin wrk during the summer is carried ut with assistance frm apprentices in the Frank Llyd Wright Schl f Architecture. Our Missin Preserve and steward Taliesin, Taliesin West, and the Taliesin Cllectins. Abut the Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin, established by Frank Llyd Wright himself in 1940, is dedicated t transfrming the way peple cnnect with their envirnments and their relatinship t the physical wrld thrugh the living experience f Frank Llyd Wright s bdy f wrk. The Fundatin wns Taliesin West in Scttsdale, Arizna, and Taliesin in Spring Green, Wiscnsin; bth are Natinal Histric Landmarks with rbust tur peratins, educatinal utreach, retail peratins and ther activities. In May f 2012, the Fundatin launched the first phase f the Energizing Taliesin West initiative, a pineering effrt t transfrm the entire Natinal Histric Landmark Taliesin West site int a net zer energy custmer, prducing as much energy as it cnsumes annually, while maintaining the histric and architectural integrity f the site

5 The Fundatin runs Taliesin, Frank Llyd Wright Schl f Architecture, with fully accredited undergraduate and graduate degree prgrams (a cntinuatin f the apprentice prgram Wright established in 1932). In 2012, the Fundatin annunced the permanent transfer f the Frank Llyd Wright Archives t the cllectins f Clumbia and MMA under a jint acquisitin and stewardship agreement under the new name The Frank Llyd Wright Fundatin Archives (The Museum f Mdern Art Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library, Clumbia University, New Yrk). The Fundatin wns and manages the intellectual prperty fr all f Frank Llyd Wright s designs, drawings, plans, art and ther creatins frm his prlific 70-year career; and engages in a variety f meaningful utreach prgrams and partnerships.
