2 CONVENIENCE. VARIETY. INSPIRATION. IT ALL STARTED WITH THE CABBAGE ROULADE... With this classic recipe Karl Kemper of Borken started his business more than 40 years ago. Already at that time, he realised the great potential of frozen food and as one of the first convenience pioneers he began to wrap cabbage - plentiful available in the southern Münsterland (a German region around Münster) - around spicy minced meat. A large number of other product categories have long since been established around the cabbage roulade. This was followed by meat roulades, peppers, minced meat, sausage and poultry specialties. In the meantime, about 170 products are produced under the Karl Kemper brand in different levels of convenience, making life for the chef easier, more varied and more tasty. 41 MINCED MEAT SPECIALTIES One of the classics in Germany, of course, is the Frikadelle, which was supposedly brought to Berlin by the Huguenots in the 17th century. They called it "boulette" for "tiny ball". The fact is that the Frikadelle is very popular. So popular that the Americans ennobled this product with a Hanseatic name - Hamburg(er).
