3 It's Time Again To Clean Out Closets In an effort to keep the rooms clean and organized, we are asking family members to come in and go through their family members clothing. If you have any questions, please contact Social Services and they can help you THE CHICKS ARE BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!!! 5 APRIL 2018 RESIDENT OF THE MONTH Sue Kinkead Birthdate: August 21,1950 Husband: Mike Children: Tressa and Steve Grandchildren: Jake, AJ, Paige, Brooklyn and Brody Sue grew up in Toddville, IA and graduated from Kennedy High School in She has 4 brothers and 1 sister. On January 23, 1971 Sue married Mike Kinkead. She worked as a cook for many years and made the best pumpkin bars! She enjoys watching her grandchildren participate in sports and also spoiling and spending time with them. Sue s family is very important to her. Residents and Family members: In an effort to prevent misplacing or breaking eyeglasses, these eyeglass holders have been put into place to be used by our residents. They have been marked by room numbers and will be placed by each resident s sink. Please utilize them appropriately. If you have any questions, feel free to contact administration. Thank You!! 9 The GLORY of EASTER What is Easter? Easter is a Christian holiday that celebrates the central event of the Christian faith: the three days after Jesus' death by crucifixion. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of the Christian faith! Easter is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the year. Easter is named for a Saxon Goddess who was known by the names of Oestre or Eastre, and in Germany by the name of Ostara. She is a goddess of the dawn and the spring, and her name derives from words for dawn, the shining light arising from the east. Religious Observances on Easter Sunday Common elements found in most Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Protestant churches include: baptisms, the Eucharist, feasting and greetings of "Christ is risen!" Easter Eggs and Christianity Some Christians disassociate themselves from Easter eggs because of their pagan connotations. Other Christians view Easter eggs, or other candies and treats, as symbols of joy and celebration and as a "taste" of new life resurrection that they have in Jesus Christ.
