This timely, targeted prject was made pssible fllwing Vernafiere's cnversin int a jint-stck cmpany. The related business plan invlves 94 millin eurs f investments thrugh t 2020 with the aim f imprving verall infrastructures, digital transfrmatin, incming internatinal peratrs and strnger rts in ge-ecnmic areas such as the USA and China which are strategic fr the wine&fd sectr where Vernafiere wns and rganises tp internatinal shws. The Exhibitin this year is mre internatinal than ever befre, with a b2b platfrm fcusing mre keenly n the market t the benefit f trade peratrs, as envisaged in the re-alignment planned in 2016 t fcus business in the exhibitin centre itself and cnsumer events in the city. As a result, the last editin attracted 130,000 peple, with 49,000 internatinal visitrs (cmprising 29,000 buyers) frm 140 cuntries. Five thusand new buyers have already registered fr the 2017 editin, especially frm the USA (frm abut twenty states), China, Hng Kng, Australia, Canada, France, Denmark, Belgium, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, Nrway, Sweden and Russia. As f this year, the experimental digital innvatin prject and related services fr business internatinalisatin is launched, in keeping with the utlines f Vernafiere's new business plan. The initiative will invlve 3,000 selected internatinal buyers with the aim f cllecting infrmatin abut the interests f trade peratrs attending the exhibitin and includes a number f digital services prmting direct cntacts with exhibitrs. Lastly, the parallel develpment f the ff-shw event Vinitaly and the City als cntinues, which last year attracted 29,000 peple; this event is designed t ensure a distinct separatin between business in the exhibitin centre fr sectr peratrs and ther initiatives fr wine lvers. The event embraces the histric centre f Verna and, this year, even Bardlin n Lake Garda by adding an extra day t the prgramme: frm Friday 7 t Tuesday 11 April.
