1 Ikara - Flinders Ranges, South Australia Wilpena Pound (Ikara) has been a sacred place of gathering for the Adnyamathanha people for tens of thousands of years. Their cultural creation stories revolve around people meeting at Ikara, and at Wilpena Pound Resort we encourage this to continue. It is accessible by sealed roads from Adelaide and Port Augusta, or via a light plane scenic flight transfer. The local Adnyamathana people call Wilpena Pound, Ikara (ii-ka-ra). Ikara means Meeting Place and is home to many sacred Aboriginal rituals and stories. The most prominent and significant of these stories is the creation story of Yurlu (Kingfisher) and the two Akurra (Serpents) that now form the walls of WIlpena Pound. At the edge of this natural wonder lies Wilpena Pound Resort. The resort blends well into the landscape and provides comfortable accommodation and is the perfect setting for any event or conference. Ground Transport We can arrange coach transfers for your group from Adelaide or Port Augusta Airport. We can also arange the services of a local guide who will provide them with stories, history and information durign the journey. The transfer from Adelaide could for lunch in the beautiful Clare Valley, this is a connected and casual way to get to Wilpena Pound and the Ikara-Flinders Ranges. (Min 10 passengers) Air Charter Offering great views of the scenic South Australian outback. light plane is the quickest and most awe inspiring way to arrive at Wilpena Pound. This service is provided by Alliance Airlines and WrightsAir. The journey consists of two flight sectors (approximately 1.5 hours each) which connect at Olympic Dam Airport (OLP). (Group discounts available on request)

The larger deluxe rooms have a kitchennete and all rooms have on-site parking. The resort has an onsite general store and bottle shop, petrol, and tour desk. Ikara Safari Camp Located adjacent 500 meters from the main Wilpena Pound Resort building, Ikara Safari Camp offers a secluded area for your meeting or event. The main communal tent is available for hire, and the 15 glamping safari tents are a unique luxury accommodation option for your team.
3 Board Room Our board room is perfect for small meetings, presentations and group training sessions. The room has its own separate entry, phone and power and accommodates up to 20 people theatre style. Conference Room Located adjacent to the Wilpena Pound Resort restaurant, this open space is your blank canvas, specifically created for group meetings and events. Accommodates up to 40 people. Wilpena Pound Resort Restaurant The restaurant overlooks the iconic 400 year old River Red Gum tree and grassed area in front of the main building. When combined with the Conference Room, this space is suitable for larger groups of up to 80 people. Ikara Safari Camp - Private HIre 15 luxurious glamping tents and a main communal tent all available for private hire. The Ikara Main Tent can also be hired as a private room for meetings and team building activities (10am- 4pm daily) and accommodates up to 40 people.
4 Menu Options Our delicious array of dining experiences capture the spirit of the Australian Outback. Our Food and Beverage team are happy to work with you to arrange special menus, showcasing local seasonal produce matched with South Australian beer & wines, and outdoor locations to immerse guests in the experience. Signature Dining Our signiture dining experience is our Aboriginal Cultural Cookout. Participants experience the traditional Aboriginal outback method of kangaroo cooking and preparation. 8 AV Equipment With every conference package, we supply chilled water, mints, conference stationary, whiteboard and markers. We offer WiFi internet in the boardroom, and can provide the use of equipment such as data projector, screen, lecturn, and microphone. Terms & Conditions Prices: All prices are in AUD and include GST. Menu prices are indicative only and subject to change once menu requirements are understood. Final Numbers: Guaranteed final numbers and a signed Event Order must be provided 60 days prior to event date. Credit Card Fees: All payments made by credit card will incur a 2.5% surcharge. Deposits Payments Cancellations 1. Confirmation of the booking will be provided with a contract and deposit invoice. To secure your booking the deposit of 20% of total cost and signed contract must be returned with in 7 days. 2. A second deposit will be required, along with minimum final numbers 60 days prior to the event. This will be calculated to be 50% of the updated total event cost. 3. Where additional items (incouding beverages) are charged on consumption, the accoutn is to be settled prior to or on checkout. Cancellations: 1. Cancellations between 60 to 31 days prior to arrival will incur a fee of 50 % of total booking costs. 2. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival will incur a fee of 100% of total booking cost.
