2 Oysters Jersey oysters benefit from the daily natural filtering effect of our unique tide and crystal clear waters. With some of the best water quality in Europe our oysters are able to thrive in an organic environment which is why 700 tons are exported a year with 80% going to France. Oysters were eaten by Islanders 6,000 years ago and by the 19th century Jersey was one of North-West Europe s main oyster producers with an estimated two billion oysters exported to English markets between 1810 and In 2010 The Royal Bay of Grouville attained the highest standard classification meaning it is MSC recommended and we provide the highest quality of oyster available.

4 Jersey Royals Jersey Royals have been grown in Jersey for 140 years and there are approximately 20 local farmers who grow them, some of which only grow potatoes and no other crops. The potatoes are grown on 7,300 acres and in May, the peak of the season up to 1,500 tonnes of Royals can be exported daily. Jersey has one of the largest tides in the world which nourishes the land with rich marine minerals giving our Jersey Royals their unique flavour and enviable reputation. Why not taste them in the only place they are grown? Besides being unique to Jersey, the Jersey Royal enjoys EU protection of designation of origin in the same way that France was granted sole use of the word Champagne.

6 Seafood Jersey is renowned for its fresh, locally caught seafood and our local supplier provides several of the top hotels and restaurants in Oxford and London with their fish and seafood due to it being the best quality. The currents that surround Jersey bring shellfish, crab and lobster close to our shores so when a menu features locally caught shellfish you can be assured of its quality and taste.

8 Jersey Cows Jersey cows are one of the most recognised cattle in the world with the first official records dating back to Their milk is considered a luxury product in many countries and some products are even exported to the UK, Ireland, Europe, China, Hong Kong, India and Japan. The protein and calcium content is 20% higher than average milk and it contains a higher concentration of minerals and vitamins. A Jersey cow produces 5,000kg of milk per year which adds up to 200,000 glasses of milk in one cow s lifetime.
