1 BLUE SKIES WEST DINING SERVICES APRIL BON APPÉTIT By Elizabeth Bain, Dining Room Team Leader SATURDAY, MARCH 24 - THURSDAY, MAY 3, 2018 Regular Dinner Reservations Sunday Brunch Reservations, Holiday and Special Events bstwfoodreservations@blueskiestx.org ~ Important Changes in Regular Dining Services ~ Sunday, Apr 1, Easter Breakfast in the Bistro is 7-9am; Brunch 11am-1pm; and the Bistro re-opens 1-7:30pm. Tuesday, Apr 3, Private Event There will not be Regular Dinner Service available due to a Private Event being held in the Roadrunner Lounge. There will be a Limited Menu available for Dinner in the Main Dining Room. Wednesday, Apr 11, B&A There will not be Regular Dinner Service available due to the B&A being held in the Main Dining Room. To go service will be available at 5pm. Friday, Apr 20, Fiesta Buffet There will not be Regular Dinner Service available due to the Fiesta Buffet held in the Main Dining Room. All Residents are welcome to come! Sunday, Apr 22 Wine Tasting Activity At 3pm in the Roadrunner Lounge, see Paula Haley for more information. Wednesday, Apr 25, Chef s Choice There will not be Regular Dinner Service available due to the Chef s Choice Dinner being held in the Main Dining Room. To go service will be available at 4:15pm. ~ Dining Services Reservations Closing Times ~ Please call the appropriate reservations number for making your dining reservation. Please do not make verbal reservations with the staff, as these may be forgotten or lost. Please, adhere to the reservation closing times listed below. Reservation Closing Times are: Daily reservations, please reserve by 2pm Sunday Reservations by 6pm the Saturday before Holidays Reservations by 12pm (noon) the Wednesday before Special Event Reservations by 12pm (noon) the Wednesday before The Dining Room does not maintain standing reservations for particular tables for any meal period. 2 ~ Evening Meal Reservations - Dining Services require making a reservation for the evening meal service. Please, remember to make your evening reservations before 2pm. Any resident wanting to make a reservation for a party of 10 people or more must contact the Dining Room 48 hours in advance. ~ Dress Code Reminder - Please be courteous of your fellow residents by following, the posted, Dress Code for the Main Dining Room. Sandwiches will be available for pick up at the Bistro starting at 2:30pm on Easter Day, Sunday, Apr 1. ~Nutrition Talks By Tamiris Colson, MS, RD, LD~ Learning how to read and understand food labels can help you make healthier choices. After 20 years of the nutrition label remaining the same, the new FDA label will have a separate line to show how much sugar has been added to each food, a change in serving size declaration, and new mandatory nutrients. Manufacturers have until Jan 1, 2020, to comply with the new labeling requirements. We see changes to the food label are coming, but how does the change affect consumers? BSTW Bon Appetit 2
